That's one pair of Queens for five additional points. You'd be tied for second place at 15 with Matt if you stopped now. You may take your second turn if you like and make exchanges. Remember, Chris gets a final possession of the video screen before the Poker Run -- and Chris is currently the leader with 40 points. What's your pleasure?

Doug: No ladies -- but you found two cowboys. The 17, 20 and 24 were hiding the King of Diamonds, 10 of Diamonds and King of Clubs, respectively.

Doug: Unfortunately, that only gives you 10 additional points for a total of 20. You'll have one free letter when we start the Poker Run.
Chris, even if you lost 5 points, you'll still have first place and two free letters ahead of the Poker Run. But, let's shuffle the cards, anyway.

Doug: As we noted earlier, four of a kind gives you 125 points. Any player who scores at least 100 points gets an extra free letter in the Poker Run. If you rack up 1000 points for a royal flush, not only do you win CY$1,000,000, you'll get a total of four free letters before the Poker Run.
So you *can* improve upon on your standing. Let's see if you succeed.
Before you attempt, please tell Mr. and Mrs. Internet and all the ships at sea a little somethin' somethin' about you.

Doug: Well, two 10s at 23 and 24 with Queen-Jack-9. You're halfway to quad 10s. And you have Diamonds with the Jack and 10. Remember, four of a kind or a straight flush give you a total of three letters, royal flush four letters, anything less and you're still assured of two. How do you play it?
Chris: I'm gonna keep the 2 10s to be on the safe side and go with 12, 17, 20.
(a few groans from the crowd)
Doug: (to crowd) Yeah, like you wouldn't! (audience laughs) All right. Trying to find two more 10s. Does he find 'em?

Doug: Well how do ya like that? All Aces. You built a full boat. (ding) Gives you 40 extra points. Not quite at the century mark. But Chris has the advantage as we start the Poker Run.

Doug: Able to leap five- and three-letter words in a single bound. (audience laughs) As you know, this is the race that determines the winner of this round. We give our top two players a head start.

Doug: Chris was assured of at least two letters when he assumed control of the screen in the last part of the round. He now has the P and the O. Eddie, for finishing second, you get one free letter. Matt, unfortunately, I can't give you free letters since you placed third. But you can make a comeback.
In the Poker Run, we play general knowledge multiple choice questions. Chime in and pick the right answer, you earn a letter. Buzz in and pick a wrong answer -- and you're locked out of the next question leaving the others to play it.
