Deuces Wild Poker

Doug: Brian Henegar's our new champion with 20-grand in cyber-cash and virtual prizes to the good. How ya feel?

Brian: YEAH! IT FEELS GOOD TO BE THE CHAMP!

Doug: Gosh, I'd hate to see how he'd react to winning CY$75,000. (audience laughs) Seriously, good luck, we're all with you here in Deuces Wild Poker and here's how it works.

Doug: Behind the numbers are ten outlaws. There's one outlaw in the top row, two in the second row, three in the third and four in the bottom row. In a moment, you'll pick one number from each row. Each time you avoid an outlaw, you win a Deuce for your hand. As the name of the game implies, Deuces are wild -- and you may use them for anything as you build a poker hand.

However, should you succeed in winning four Deuces, you don't build a poker hand. You just accept a check for CY$75,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: But, in case you run into one outlaw, keep playing because you'll go on to play for CY$20,000. At the end of the game, we'll add CY$5000 to the outlaw's jackpot for each outlaw you ran into.

So let's start at the top row. There's just the one outlaw to avoid. You're playing for the Deuce of Spades.

Brian: Okay here goes nothin'. 2.

Doug: Trying to win a 2 with a 2. Does that logic work?

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: Oh yeah.

Doug: D.J. Hamilton places the Deuce you just won on the board. Let's hope for three more. Next outlaw has two outlaws to avoid. You're playing for the Deuce of Hearts here.

Brian: 9.

Doug: Number 9, number 9. Another good number?

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: I'd say so.

Doug: Now we get to the nitty gritty. It's 50-50 time here. Three outlaws to avoid, three other numbers are good. Pick one of the three and you win the Deuce of Clubs.

Brian: 16.

Doug: Continuing a diagonal line. If number 16 doesn't hide an outlaw, we go for the jackpot on the bottom row. Let's have a look.

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: I'm so sorry. Well, CY$75,000 is no longer in this discussion. Maybe we can get CY$20,000 with the help of this last number. We're down to the bottom row. Deuce of Diamonds at stake -- the hardest to win since there are four outlaws on the bottom row.

Brian: 23.

Doug: Completing a diagonal line. Let's hope for no outlaw behind 23.

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: All right. Three Deuces to play with.

Doug: Three for four, that's a great day at the plate. Let's find where the other nine outlaws were before we go further.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: There they are. Now, Brian, during the break, we had you cut a deck of cards in the event you ran into at least one outlaw. The first two cards from the top of the deck...

Doug: ...are here already. Bless those folks who work the card chute. In a moment, you'll pick one card to add to your hand. The other card will be discarded immediately. We'll repeat the process with the next two cards.

Doug: At the end of the game, you'll collect some moolah based on this table. Now, since you have three Deuces, you can't do worse than CY$2000 for four of a kind. But if you can draw cards of the same suit and higher than a 9, you'll win CY$20,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: So let's find a lucky card. Left or right?

Brian: I'll take the right.

Doug: The right card. Usually this defines the mission for CY$20,000. Let's have a look, Deej.

D.J.: The 10 of Clubs.

(smattering of cheers)

Doug: Well, there's your mission. Find a face card or Ace with the next pair of cards.

Doug: There's your 10. And the next two cards are on the way.

Doug: There they are. You've got to hope one of those cards is a high Club for the 20-grand. What are your instincts tell you?

Brian: I'll take the right.

Doug: The right card again...

If

the

card

on

the

D.

J.,

let's

have

a

look.

(audience groans)

D.J.: The King of Diamonds. Sorry, Brian.

Doug: Rats. Well, we knew you had at least CY$2000 coming your way -- and that's what you end up with..

Doug: We add this two-grand to your prior winnings for a total of...

Doug: ...CY$22,150. (audience cheers) Remember, Brian, if you win the next three games in a row, you'll play for CY$1,000,000 *plus* the outlaw's jackpot here in Deuces Wild Poker.

Speaking of jackpot, since Brian ran into an outlaw, let's add CY$5000 to said pot. Make it back here, Brian, and you'll play for CY$80,000.

(audience cheers) (smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: Meantime, we're going to try to give away CY$20,000 and then some in the audience game. That's next on The New Net Poker.

(more cheers)
