Outlaw's Video Slot Challenge

Doug: Ian, you'll now take that CY$3000 and try to convert it to tens of thousands more. We have a different video slot game behind each of the numbers. Pick a number and we'll see what challenge you'll take on.

Ian: 6

Doug: OK, all the way at the end. What game awaits at 6?

(ding)

Doug: Ah, Suit Yourself. Really, this was the first video slot game we ever played on Net Poker. Let's set it up.

ANY THREE SYMBOLS=CY$750

ANY PAIR=CY$1500

THREE OF A KIND=CY$3000

THREE SPADES=CY$10,000

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: Ian, in every reel, we have Spades, Hearts, Clubs and Diamonds. Spin any three symbols and you win CY$750 more. But if you get a pair of a particular symbol, you win another CY$1500. Three of the same pays three grand. Three Spades, however, means CY$10,000.

In the third reel, there's the bad luck symbol and that mean ol' outlaw. If you run into bad luck, that's one strike and you have to spin again. An outlaw means an instant three strikes. Once you're assessed that third strike, the game's over and your total winnings are reduced to CY$50.

But if you can pile up at least CY$10,000 before that third strike, we double that score -- and then we add this.

(prize music plays)

Rich: Ian, as our fifth anniversary celebration of Net Poker winds down, five members of the staff here at VBS63 in Hattiesburg all chipped in to make your prize package. And I thought I start off with this five cyber-dollar bill from my pocket.

Next, D.J.'s going to reach into her purse and add this crisp new CY$50 bill.

But wait, there's more. Doug has in his hot little hand five equally crisp CY$100 bills.

Now, we had to coax our own Judge Von Erik to help us out. After a lot of begging, he gave us CY$5000 for the pot. Cyber-money he had set aside for the stock market.

(audience laughs)

Rich: Finally, we had to go all the way the accountant's office for your final prize. That's right, Big Sam's putting up CY$50,000.

(audience cheers)

Rich: Ian, this fifth anniversary prize package is worth, all in cyber-cash, CY$55,555.

(more cheers)(music fades)

Doug: Oh, *WOW*. Beat the outlaw and you'll win more than CY$75,000. But, ya know, if you want to stand pat at three-grand and not bother taken a spin, fine by us since we all provided the seed money for the bonus.

(audience laughs)

Doug: What do you want to do?

Ian: I'll keep the money.

(audience gasps)

Doug: Um, OK, interesting. Well, I guess there's a first time for everything. And this is the first time we've had a player elect to stop the video slot challenge before it really starts. So, Ian, we will honor your wishes and present you with CY$3000. Please also accept our thanks for playing.

(audience applause)

Doug: We're not going to go through the torture of playing "what if" with Ian. What we *will* do is list the names of the folks who will be in the Mega Playoff.

1. Robert McBride
CY$212,350

2. Andy Silikovitz
CY$134,750

3. Josh Warren
CY$129,250

4. Todd Davis
CY$123,850

Doug: And here they are. Our top seed is Robert McBride with CY$212,350. You'll recall he was our first champion of Net Poker. Then, during our first tournament of champions, we played a regulation game, Robert won it -- and then proceeded to make Net Poker history by winning nothing in Deuces Wild. Thankfully, he recovered from that by winning a CY$90,000 jackpot in the next episode and then won his third straight game and CY$100,000 in the next.

Second seed is Andy Silikovitz. He's the only player from our first tournament of champions to earn a spot in the second tourney. Lifetime winnings for him are well over CY$300,000.

In the third spot, we have our just retired champion, Josh Warren, with 129-grand-plus. Todd Davis rounds out our group with just a shade under 124-thou. An sub-plot worthy of note, Josh defeated Todd in regular competition. So it will be interesting if they make it to the finals.

(smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: Again, friends, thanks for five fun-filled years of Net Poker. We hope to deal out more fun in the years to come. 'Til we see you again, make it a great day, keep the faith and treasure your loved ones.
