Deuces Wild Poker Doug: We'll get to Deuces Wild, shortly -- and then a full audience game thereafter. But first, if I don't get to say this later, I'd better say this now.
With our fifth anniversary celebration nearing an end, I cannot thank all of you enough -- for your great support of Net Poker. Great thanks to all our contestants, writers, cast and crew. Net Poker wouldn't have made it to Year Five without all of you.
Also, thanks for the kind words -- and even honest criticisms. We've taken it all to heart -- and we hope you like the changes to Net Poker we'll unveil in 2009.
And on a personal note, thank you for the continued prayers since my wife died last year. With the holiday season coming around, if you're looking to donate to particular causes, I hope you'll consider sending some money to the Cindy Morris scholarship fund at William Carey University, where she worked for more than six years in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The details are at www.dougmorris.net/cindy on Page 4.
(audience respectfully applauds)
Doug: All right, Josh, let's see if we can send you into the tournament in a blaze of glory. You know this drill by now.
Doug: Ten outlaw cards randomly distributed on the board. One in the top row, two in the next row, three in the third and four in the bottom row. Pick a number from each row and you'll win a Deuce if you don't run into an outlaw on a particular row.
The more Deuces you have, the better your odds of making CY$20,000 for a royal flush. *But* if you avoid all the outlaws and win four Deuces, you get the outlaw's jackpot worth CY$60,000.

Doug: By the way, Josh, you *could* win more than CY$60,000 in this round. Here's how.
The other day, someone asked me if the player ran into four outlaws, would we proceed building a poker hand? I said -- sure, why not?
Then that someone asked -- what if that player made a royal flush? Would we give away CY$20,000 or CY$100,000 plus a car? After checking with the rules, we came to the conclusion the answer is -- both. CY$20,000 for making any royal flush. And, because the player wouldn't have any wild cards, we'd call it a natural royal flush and award that player another CY$100,000 plus a car if he or she has not won a car already.
Doug: And, of course, we had Josh cut the deck for Deuces Wild in case he ran into at least one outlaw. So, Josh, if that cut felt *really* good and you're feeling *really* lucky, you'll want to go for four outlaws here and then five cards higher than a 9 all of the same suit. That way, I *think* you'd have top seed honors.
Then again, if you want to play it realistically, go for the jackpot of 60-grand.
Josh: Let's see those deuces. I'll take 3.
Doug: Going to take the conventional route. Fair enough. Let's see #3.
(winning bells; audience applause)
Doug: Deuce of Spades. Great start.
Doug: One down, three to go for CY$60,000. Pick a number from the next row.
Josh: 11
Doug: The double toothpick. What's at 11?
(winning bells; audience applause)
Doug: Another Deuce for you.
Doug: Now here's where it gets tricky. Fifty-fifty time. Deuce of Clubs is your if you avoid any of the three outlaws in the third row.
Josh: 13
Doug: Lucky 13. If it is lucky for you, Josh, we go for the jackpot in the bottom row. Let's see 13.
(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)
Doug: Rats. Well, when we resume regular play, the outlaw's jackpot will be worth at least CY$62,500. Let's improve the chances at 20-grand, Josh, by winning the Deuce of Diamonds.
Josh: 21
Doug: Hitting 21. Another Deuce?
(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)
Doug: Another bust. Sorry about that. Two Deuces to play with. Before we go further, let's see where the other eight outlaws were.
Doug: There they were. Let's also go ahead and add to the Outlaw's Jackpot. Josh, you ran into two outlaws; at CY$2500 each, it means we add CY$5000 to the jackpot. It's going to be awhile before we play for the pot at CY$65,000.

Doug: But that's in the future. Here comes part of the next stage of the present.
Doug: First two cards from the top of the deck you cut earlier. You'll choose one, the other will be discarded. We'll repeat that process two more times.

Doug: When all's said and done, we hope the cards you picked are higher than a 9 and of the same suit for CY$20,000.
Doug: So, where do we start? Left or right?
Josh: Let's start with the right card.
Doug: Right card gives you what?
D.J.: The Jack of Hearts.
Doug: OK, defines the mission.
Doug: Find more Hearts higher than a 9. Let's hope at least one card fits that description in the next pair.
Doug: And there's the second pair. Again -- left or right?
Josh: Lets go with the left card.
Doug: The left this time. Another Heart?
D.J.: Nope. Jack of Clubs.
Doug: Well, royal's not in this discussion.
Doug: But if you collect a third Jack, we'll make those Deuces Jacks for CY$10,000. Final two cards for Josh before the tournament.
Doug: You're assured of CY$2000 here -- but let's see if that payoff can increase fivefold. Left or right?
Josh: I'll take the left card.
Doug: Left card....
if
the
left
card
is
a
jack,
you
win
ten
thousand
cyber-
dollars.
Deej,
let's
see
that
left
card.
D.J.: Sorry, Josh. King of Clubs.
Doug: Darn. Well, you end up with four of a kind. Deej, was a Jack on the right?
D.J.: Queen of Hearts.
Doug: Well, you were destined for four of a kind anyway. As D.J. plays the King, you collect CY$2000 more. We'll go ahead and add that to your previous winnings for a grand total of...
(smooth jazz theme plays) (audience cheers)
Doug: ...CY$129,250. Now, you'll need about CY$6000 more to pass Andy Silikovitz for the second seed in the tourney. I say that because we have an audience game coming up. Josh, you are welcome to stick around and try to get in that audience game. Any and all cyber-money you win in that audience game does apply to your tournament score.
So we'll be right back with the audience game -- right after this.
