Deuces Wild Poker Doug: Back on Net Poker. Josh is back at a familiar place -- Deuces Wild Poker. You know how this works. But for anyone who's not seen us play the endgame, here's what Josh is going to do.
Doug: Josh will choose one number from each row -- in the hope he can avoid a run-in with the outlaw. By random assignment, one outlaw's in the top row, two are in the second row, three in the third and four in the bottom row.
Each time he avoids an outlaw, he wins a Deuce -- which, as the name of the endgame implies, is wild and can be used for anything as he builds a poker hand. But, should he win four Deuces and avoid all ten outlaws, forget the poker hand -- because that yields a huge payoff to the tune of CY$55,000.

Doug: We found out recently that CY$55,000 happens to be the amount Fred Scott paid... uh... nevermind. This is Net Poker -- not Net Blackmail!
Doug: Seriously, Josh, hit the jackpot and you'll have a total of 68-grand. Road to riches starts with the top row. There's one outlaw to avoid. Pick a number.
Josh: OK, lets take 4.
Doug: Brett Favre's number -- regardless of the color jersey he wears. (light laughter from the crowd) Show us what's behind 4.
(winning bells; audience applause)
Doug: Good start.
Doug: One Deuce down, three to go. We go to the second row. Avoid the two outlaws here and you win the Deuce of Hearts.
Josh: 12
Doug: Number 12. Joe Willie Namath's number. Let's take a look.
(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)
Doug: Rats. Well, you still have one Deuce to play with. Let's go on to the third row. Three good numbers, three Outlaws. Fifty-fifty shot at winning the Deuce of Clubs.
Josh: 14
Doug: OK, no more Jet references. Let's go ahead and reveal 14.
(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)
Doug: Oh, mercy. Josh. We go to the last row. There are four outlaws waiting to deprive you of the Deuce of Diamonds. Which number would you like?
Josh: 23
Doug: OK, I wanna give this man two Deuces to play with. What's behind 23?
(winning bells; audience applause)
Doug: All right, that's more like it. Before we go any further, let's see where the other eight outlaws were.
Doug: There they are. Now, let's concentrate on winning CY$20,000.
Doug: Deej has your Deuces you've won on the board. Now, during the break, we had you cut a deck of cards in the event you *had* to go this far in Deuces Wild. Those first two cards from the top of the deck are coming down the chute... right... about... sometime...
Doug: There! (light laughter from the crowd) I swear this worked in rehearsal. Now, in a moment, you'll choose one of these cards, we'll turn it over and add it to your hand. The card you decline will then be discarded immediately. We'll repeat the process with the next pair of blind cards -- and then the third pair.

Doug: After you've drawn three cards, hopefully they'll all be of the same suit and higher than a 9. That way -- you win CY$20,000.
Doug: So let's start building that hand with natural cards. Do you start with the left or the right?
Josh: I'll take the left card.
Doug: Left card it is.
D.J.: The Jack of Diamonds.
Doug: OK, that defines your mission.
Doug: Draw more Diamonds higher than a 9. And here...
Doug: ...are the next two cards. Left or right?
Josh: Now lets go with the right one.
Doug: Right one. Another Diamond higher than a 9, I hope?
D.J.: Just high enough! (scattered cheers from the crowd) The 10 of Diamonds.
Doug: Hey now!
Doug: Josh, if you can get 20-grand out of just two Deuces, it will be real impressive. Let's bring in the last two cards for the endgame.
Doug: And here they are. You have to hope at least one of these cards is a Diamond higher than a Jack. Possible CY$20,000 decision here -- left or right?
Josh: Lets hope the right card is what I need!
Doug: The right card...
if
that
right
card
is
another
Diamond
*and*
it's
higher
than
a
Jack,
you
win
twenty-
thousand
cyber-
dollars.
Deej,
please
turn
that
right
card
over.

D.J.: Right rank, right color, wrong suit. Ace of Hearts. I'm sorry, honey.
Doug: Rats. BTW, what was on the left?
D.J.: Jack of Hearts.
Doug: Well, the royal just wasn't possible. As D.J. places the Ace in the last spot, we'll make one Deuce a King and the other a Queen...
Doug: ...for a straight worth CY$750. (audience applause) We add that to your previous winnings of CY$13,000 makes this easy to add up.
Doug: CY$13,750. (smooth jazz theme plays) And as you know, if you win the next game, you clinch a berth in the Mega Playoff. We have time for a *quick* audience game. We'll play it after this.
