As always, I cannot thank you enough for your patience this year. It's time now to look for players in Game 33 of Net Poker. Some notes on this and other net games I'm involved in are in order...
\ Andy Silikovitz has won one game, a trip to San Francisco and CY$23,500. It is possible with a jackpot win and at least CY$4000 from the main game and/or audience game that he'll return to the Quarter Million Playoff. The outlaw's jackpot is up to CY$72,500.
\ This is Game 33. So if you played in the main game of Game 30, 31 or 32, please sit on your hands and let someone else play. Of course, if you're on retired status due to QMP qualification (Robert McBride, in this case), you'll have to wait 'til said tournament.
\ As for The Net Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour, it will probably be another week before it starts. And The Big Risk is going through some retooling ahead of its return in '08. I'm planning to do a pilot episode -- hopefully starting later this month.
OK, now that we have that out of the way, let's start the qualifying round. The two players closest to the right answer, high or low, get to challenge Andy. Here's the query...
On February 26, 2007, at Noon Central, we recorded a rerun of "Stump The Schwab" on ESPN Classic. How many total points were scored in The Schwab Showdown by The Schwab and his opponent?
(time passes)
And the estimates are locked in. Let's see the right answer.
QUALIFYING ANSWER
21 POINTS
Well, on some other show, any 21 wins a jackpot. This 21 won you a seat on Net Poker. BTW, Schwabbie won 11 to 10 in this episode's final head-to-head round. On top of that, Schwab had a strike against him.
Let's see who's the closest.
Rick Morris 19 Will Schmarder 19Tie between Rick and Will. Well, already we have our challengers lined up for Andy. Just for the heck of it, who locked in first?
Will Schmarder 19OK, Will will be in position 2 and Rick's in 3. To everyone else, TBR's pilot should come soon and NMG-HSH soon thereafter.
======================================================================Rich Jeffries: "Desperate Housewives' Poker Showdown" (audience laughs) has been cancelled at the last moment -- because some of them cheat at Poker like they cheat at -- ya know. (more laughs) In its place, an honest game of Poker. ======================================================================
Rich: From CDM Enterprises, a division of Trax Productions, welcome to the card game where high hands can bring high rewards. This is Net Poker.

Rich: And now, here's the star of our show, Doug Morris!
(Doug walks out from behind the video poker screen)
Doug: I thank you, Rich Jeffries. Helloooooooooo, everybody -- and welcome to another session of Net Poker. Let's welcome back our champion with one win, a trip to San Francisco and CY$23,500, Andy Silikovitz.
ANDY WILL RICK ![]()

Doug: Today, he defends his championship against Will Schmarder and Rick Morris -- no relation to me, as we've established previously. I would introduce D.J. Hamilton -- but she's nowhere to be found. Certainly has us a bit concerned. Anyway, let's see the theme for the first round.

WHAT'S IN A NAME?:
EVA LONGORIADoug: Oh, Andy may have a bit of an advantage. He got to play What's In A Name? as our first Quarter Million Playoff was wrapping up.
Today's name we're playing with is the name of America's most desperate Spurs fan, Eva Longoria. Now we'll play a series of questions. The correct answer to each question is spelled with some of the letters that appear somewhere in Eva's first and/or last name.
Here's a sample question. Syracuse University's athletic teams go by the colorful nickname of The << BLANK >>. The correct answer is "Orange". There's an O, an R, an A, an N, a G and an E appearing somewhere in her name.
Another example. Complete the title of this 1980 romantic film starring Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins: "The Blue...". Here you'd buzz in and say "Lagoon". An L, an A, a G, two O's and an N are in the name Eva Longoria.
Every time you buzz in with the right answer, you win 10 points. In fact, let's start each of you with 10 points.
