Deuces Wild Poker

Doug: Welcome back. Andy, we'll get right to the bonus game -- because you've played it five times before and have won CY$20,000 on three of those occasions. Let's see if you can go all the way and win the jackpot.

Doug: Hidden behind these numbers are ten of the most cantankerous cowboys to ever stand between you and your cyber-money. (light laughter from the crowd) You'll pick one number from each row. The closer you get to the bottom, the more likely you run into an outlaw.

But on each row you don't find an outlaw, we give you a Deuce -- which is wild and can be used for anything when your hand is complete. Again, for the maximum possible payoff, please wait until your hand is complete.

Should you end up winning four Deuces and leave all ten outlaws hidden, we forget playing Poker and instead give you CY$67,500.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Love to see the big payoff here. Let's start at the top row. Just one outlaw to avoid. Do that and you win the Deuce of Spades.

Andy: 5

Doug: Number 5, let's see it.

(ding) (audience applause)

Doug: Good beginning.

Doug: One down and three to go. Next row hides two outlaws -- avoid them and the Deuce of Hearts is yours.

Andy: 10

Doug: Numero diez, por favor.

(ding) (audience applause)

Doug: So far, so good.

Doug: Now here's where things start to get tricky. Third row hides three outlaws. Fifty-fifty shot you'll win the Deuce of Clubs.

Andy: 15

Doug: Staying with the multiples of five. Does it work here?

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: No it doesn't. OK, jackpot goes to at least CY$70,000 on the next show. Meantime, let's see if you can win the Deuce of Diamonds -- always the toughest to win. Four outlaws to avoid on the bottom row.

Andy: 20

Doug: Number 20. Still going with the multiples of five. Does he play with three Deuces going into the next stage?

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: I'll take that as a "no". Well, two Deuces to play with. Let's reveal where the rest of the outlaws were.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: Wow, they were all side by side on the bottom row. In any event, let's move on to the next phase -- by bringing in the top two cards of the deck.

Doug: You know this drill here. We had you cut a deck of cards during the break. These are the first two cards from the top of that deck. You'll choose one card, Deej will turn it face up and add it to your hand. The card you decline is discarded immediately -- and then we continue play with the next two hands.

Doug: When your hand is complete, you receive a payoff based on this table. I hope you draw cards higher than a 9 and all of the same suit for a CY$20,000 royal flush. (audience cheers) Again, you've done that three out of five times last season. Let's see if you can do it here. So, which card's going to start your road to 20-grand -- left or right?

Andy: Right card

Doug: Right it is -- and it is what?

D.J.: The 10 of Spades.

Doug: OK, mission's better defined...

Doug: ...find an Ace and/or royalty of Spades. Let's go to the next two cards from the deck.

Doug: And your decision again -- left or right?

Andy: Left -- my card in San Francisco.

(audience laughs)

Doug: I would say, "Let me do the jokes." But if I delivered that line, they'd boo me. Let's see if the left's a good card.

D.J.: Yes! Jack of Hearts.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Well, now. Andy, if you can draw another Spade higher than a 9, you will have made your *fourth* royal flush in Deuces Wild.

Doug: And there are the final two cards for the bonus round. Choose carefully -- left or right?

Andy: Since not much rhymes with "left" -- lots of words rhyme with "right" -- I'll choose the right card. But is it the right card?

Doug: Well, we'll find out in moments.

If

that

Doug: But ya know... (audience groans) ...CY$20,000 can buy a lot of souvenirs in San Francisco. If you won 20-grand, what would you spend it on in San Francisco?

Andy: Well I could bid on the baseball from Barry Bonds' 756th home run. Not many more to go.

Doug: Eh, good point.

Andy: Or maybe lifetime season tickets for the Giants and 49ers.

Doug: No kiddin'. Well,

Doug: But let's say you weren't into sports.

(audience groans)

D.J.: Uh, Doug, floor director's giving you the "wrap" signal. Better get to the reveal or else he'll give you some other signal.

Doug: Good point. Turn the card over, Deej.

D.J.: Queen of Spades!

(winning bells; audience cheers)

Doug: Oh yeah! Twenty-large.

Doug: Woo-hoo. Great for you, Andy. Let's crunch the numbers. First, your current tournament score. We add CY$20,000 to what you won earlier in the main game -- giving you a total of...

Doug: ...CY$23,500. (audience cheers) Now, you ran into two outlaws. At CY$2500 each, it means we add CY$5000 to the Outlaw's Jackpot -- meaning you or one of your challengers on the next show could win...

Doug: ...CY$72,500. Now get a load of this. Your lifetime winnings on Net Poker, Andy, add up to an even CY$340,000.

(audience cheers) (smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: The man knows how to play the game. We'll get to an audience game. Maybe he'll win that, too. That's all after this.

(more cheers)
