Joker Poker

(audience cheers)

Doug: A come from behind victory for sure -- but Alan would've been here had you selected the right blind card.

OK, Kourtney, for winning the game, you're entitled to *two* punches on the Punchboard. There's one less CY$500 prize, which you won earlier, and one less CY$2000 prize. Whatever cyber-money you win on these two punches you get to keep in total.

In the event you punch out a CY$5000 prize and a CY$2000 prize, we'll still throw in CY$3000 in keeping with normal Net Poker rules. If you punch two CY$5000 prizes, that's still a CY$10,000 total. But of course, there are still two CY$10,000 prizes to be won -- so you could win more than 10-grand and I sure hope that happens for you here.

Go ahead and punch out two holes.

(Kourtney punches out 1st hole)

Doug: I was wondering when someone would go to a corner. One more.

(Kourtney punches out 19th hole)

Doug: Very well. Oh, let's just look into this corner first and see if 10-grand's here.

(Doug opens slip; studies it)

Doug: Hmm... there's a one here. (smattering of cheers) There are a few zeroes here. (more cheers) Unfortunately...

CY$1,000

Doug: ...just three zeroes. (audience groans) Well, let's look at the other hole he punched out. Maybe this one's worth 5000 or 10,000.

(Doug opens slip)

Doug: Oh, Kourtney, be glad you're keeping both of these amounts.

CY$750

Doug: If we were playing normally, you'd take a backwards step. Still, CY$1750 isn't bad. Brings your total up to CY$2250. *And* you could win more cyber-money and this prize.

(prize music plays)

Rich: Kourtney, it's a trip to San Francisco. (audience cheers) You and a guest will fly round trip coach to San Francisco, California, for a six-night stay at a luxury hotel. See the Golden Gate Bridge, visit Fisherman's Wharf and ride the famous trolley cars. All in the city by the bay -- San Francisco. Compliments of Club Universe.

(music fades)

Doug: And you win that trip in *our* version of...

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: ...Joker. Obviously, we spared no expense for this setup on the big screen. (audience laughs) Kourtney, behind the five numbered spaces, we have playing cards. One of those numbers hides the Joker.

Now in our version of Joker, you'll choose one card at a time to remove from the board. The sooner you can find the Joker, the more you win. If you can find the Joker on this first chance, you'll win the trip *plus* double the cyber-money you just won from the Punchboard; in this case, another CY$3500. The stakes decrease if you need another chance. But let's go ahead and win the trip and CY$3500 right now. Where's the Joker?

Kourtney: 4.

Doug: Number 4. Is it hiding the Joker?

(buzz)

Doug: Nope. It's the Ace of Spades. OK, you can still win the trip -- but you're also playing for an additional CY$1000. Let's see if you can find the Joker on this pick?

Kourtney: 1.

Doug: Let's take a look at 1.

(buzz) (a few groans)

Doug: No Joker; 9 of Hearts instead. OK, Kourtney, the bad news is the trip's now out of play. The good news is this next pick is worth CY$1000. Which number hides the Joker?

Kourtney: 5.

Doug: Number 5. I want to give Kourtney a grand.

(buzz) (lots of groans)

Doug: Ugh! But I can't. It's the Queen of Diamonds. One last chance to win something in this game of Joker. Your last pick is worth CY$500 if you find the Joker.

Kourtney: 2.

Doug: Come on Joker -- come on -- *TWO*.

(buzz; audience groans; TPiR losing horns)

Doug: Wait! Do you think maybe they forgot to hide the Joker?

(ding)

Doug: Oh, no, they remembered. (smooth jazz theme plays) Well, may you have much better luck in Deuces Wild Poker. That's coming up after this.

(audience applause)
