Audience Game Jay's done with his endgame -- so we're done with qualifying for the audience game. Let's revisit the question...
On November 12, 2006, FlashGameShows.com's QuickPlay game of the day was the numbers game based on the segment of the UK game show "Countdown". What was this day's three-digit target number?
Quick hello to Dan and company. They've been among many passing along their respect. Right answer, please.
QUALIFYING ANSWER
139
The numbered tiles, by the way, were 50, 3, 4, 75, 10 and 100. A winning solution would've been 50+100=150, then 10-3=7, then 150-7=143 and finally 143-4=139. Let's get right to the qualifying results and see who'll play the audience game.
Matt Taylor 233 Steve Michaels 397 Matt Tanga 500By the way, Michael Clifford also gave us an answer of 500; Matt's came sooner so he'll take the tie-break edge. Thanks to everyone for playing. Matt, Matt and Steve, stand by.
Doug: And we're back on Net Poker. Welcome our audience game players -- Matt Taylor, Steve Michaels and Matt Tanga.

Doug: We're playing First To Ten tonight. Let's show you how we play it.

PLAYER
BANKER
Doug: D.J. has a deck of cards -- as always the Ace through 9 of each suit. But the suit of each card is what's important.
In a moment, she'll deal a card to the Player -- and then one to the Banker. D.J. will continue to alternate the deal back and forth until one side scores 10 points.
A Spade is worth 4 points, a Heart 3 points, a Club 2 and a Diamond 1. Pick the side that will successfully reach 10 points first and you'll either win or share in CY$1500. Remember if you pick the Banker and Banker wins, you have to pay 5% commission.
First To Ten lasts for two rounds -- and the player with the most cyber-money at the end of the second round goes on to take those winnings over to the Outlaw's Video Slot Challenge.
So, let's start. Which side do you think will win this first round of First To Ten -- Player or Banker?
(players lock in responses)
Doug: And let's see who's picking who. Matt Taylor, who was in a spirited audience game with Mat Tanga awhile back, who's side are you on?
Matt Taylor: Player
Doug: And Steve?
Steve: I'm gonna taaaaaaake...Player
Doug: (chuckles) And Mat Tanga?
Mat Tanga: I Pick the Banker.

Doug: OK, so if the Player is the first to ten, Matt Taylor and Steve each collect CY$750. If Mat Tanga's prediction of Banker holds up, he'll lead with CY$1425. Let's deal 'em out, Deej.

PLAYER
BANKER
Doug: And a modest start for the Player for 1 point.

PLAYER
BANKER
Doug: Equally modest beginning for the Banker.

PLAYER
BANKER
Doug: Ah, geez, another Diamond? I should note after 10 cards if no one scores 10, the higher scoring side wins. In the event we're tied after 10 cards and scores less than 10, the players split CY$750 for the draw. OK, next card for the Banker.

PLAYER
BANKER
Doug: Something other than a Diamond. It's 3-2 Banker's favor.

PLAYER
BANKER
Doug: Good news for Matt Taylor and Steve, a big 4-point Spade.

PLAYER
BANKER
Doug: Another Club for the Banker. Getting close here toward the end. A Spade wins it for Matt Taylor and Steve.

PLAYER
BANKER
(a few groans)
Doug: Nope. *Another* Diamond. Mat Tanga, maybe good news on the next card.

PLAYER
BANKER
Doug: First Heart in the audience game. But the next card completes the Player's hand. And if it's a Spade or Heart, Matt Taylor and Steve win it.

(winning bells; audience applause)
Doug: And Matt Taylor and Steve win it.

Doug: Mat Tanga, since the Banker didn't win, you receive CY$50 plus CY$5 per point as a consolation. Now as D.J. clears the board and gets ready for the second and final round, I should note she'll be dealing off the next cards from the top of the deck. The cards from the first round are not in play. You get to decide the winning side again -- Player or Banker? Remember, the player with the most cyber-money at the end of this deal goes on to the Outlaw's Video Slot Challenge.
