Doug: Brave move on your part. Better luck in the next round. Michael, let's shuffle the cards for you.

(cards are shuffled on the video screen; after shuffling stops, the cards are covered immediately with the 24 numbers)

Doug: Now many of you remember Michael when he played in our first Quarter Million Playoff. For those new viewers, Michael, tell us about yourself.

Michael: My name is Michael Clifford. I am from Marlton, New Jersey. I am currently unemployed. I like watching game shows and playing netgames. Oh, and hi Deej.

(audience laughs) (Lt. D.J. waves back)

Doug: Ya know you couldn't have picked a better day to come, Michael. Five numbers, please.

Michael: Why is it that every time I come on the show, D.J. always has to dress sexy?

(audience laughs)

D.J.: Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you view the glass, the wardrobe expenses were cut for this season.

Michael: OK, I'll go with 24, 19, 3, 13, & the Jill Manas number: 12.

Doug: Speaking of Jill, I'm not even sure if I want to know how the models on "Deal or No Deal" in the mirror universe dress. (audience laughs) Anyway, let's have a look.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: Hey. (audience applause) Three 10s, Michael. That's 15 points if you stopped here. Of course, you do have a second turn if you wish to make exchanges. World's your oyster right now. What would you like to do?

Michael: Let's find either a fourth 10 or another Ace. Get rid of the King & replace it with 7.

Doug: Very well. Cowboy's gone and what's at #7?

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: Eh, no gain on the play.

Doug: But you still collect 15 points for the trip 10s. Marc, as we shuffle the cards...

(cards are shuffled on the video screen; after shuffling stops, the cards are covered immediately with the 24 numbers)

Doug: ...you'll need a pair of Queens or better for a tie and anything better than a pair to win. Before you take command, tell us about yourself.

Marc: I'm 24 years old, from Riverside, NJ, and I am temporarily unemployed. I like playing poker, surfing the Internet, and watching game shows--though not necessarily in that order.

Doug: Well, you've come to the right place and you're about to play our Video Poker as you pick five numbers.

Marc: Give me 12, 2, 13, 23, and 18.

Doug: OK, let's have a look.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: A pair of cowboys. Marc, if you stopped here, you'd collect a nickel, you'd tie Michael and then you two would go to the Dice Poker table to break it. Of course, you have a second turn.

Marc: Keep the kings, and give me 20, 5, and 22.

Doug: OK, if something good joins the Kings, you win the round. If not, it's Dice Poker to break the tie. Show us 20, 5 and 22.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: Third King at 20 gives you the round.

(winning bells; audience applause)

Doug: Nice job, Marc. Now, let's see if you can top it off with a CY$5000 payoff.

Doug: The five-grand's waiting for you behind one of the letters in the word "POKER". Of course, there are lesser prizes hidden. Which letter has the 5000?

Marc: O.

Doug: The letter O hides the princely sum of...

(bing)

Doug: ...just CY$500.

Doug: Marc, we'll see you later in Joker Poker. Winner of the next round plays against you in that championship round.

We have to take a break. But, let's go to Captain Picard for an idea of what Michael and Mat face in that next round.

(clip from final scene of TNG series plays)

Jean-Luc Picard: So, five-card stud, nothing wild -- and the sky's the limit.

(clip, accompanied by TNG theme, plays out; fade to black)
