Video Poker [Notes we disclosed to players:
When we list simply "Star Trek" as a choice, we're talking about the original series that aired in the 1960s.
When we list "Star Trek: Enterprise", the most recent series to air, the show was also known as simply "Enterprise". But we're listing it as "Star Trek: Enterprise".
We're not counting any episode from the animated series that aired in the '70s or any theatrical movie. Strictly live-action TV series. Also, guest starring and regular cast roles do count; archival footage does not count.]

Doug: We neglected to mention the 10-point head start every player received just for coming into the studio. The scores are right as you see them.
The late DeForest Kelley was Dr. McCoy in the original series. His character was promoted to admiral of Starfleet Medical and appeared in the debut episode of "The Next Generation" in a real symbolic passing of the torch. OK, next actor...

Doug: Teri was transporter chief B.G. Robinson on an episode of "The Next Generation". She tried to -- stay alive. (audience groans) Again, folks, one flip of the switch change my phaser's settings. (audience laughs) OK, tie for the lead and one more question on "Trek" actors...

Doug: George was Mr. Sulu in the original series. His character was promoted to Captain of the USS Excelsior and appeared in that role in an episode of "Voyager".
That's five questions. Let's see how, dare I say it, the 3M company did. (audience laughs) Ah, learned your lesson. Marc leads with 40 points, Michael's in second with 30 and Mat has 10.
Now let's go to Lt. Deej and play for more points at the video screen.

D.J.: Resistance is futile -- but may you not be assimilated by the *board*. (audience laughs) Players, in a moment, each of you will take up to two consecutive turns at the video screen. On your first turn, select five numbers and we'll reveal the cards behind them. As always, behind the numbers are the cards Ace through 9 of each suit.
If you're happy with your selections, take the points associated with your combination -- or discard any or all cards and draw as many new cards.
![]()
D.J.: To win any points at all, you have to have a pair of Queens, Kings or Aces.
Doug: And if you make a natural royal flush in this or any other round of Net Poker, you'll win CY$100,000, you'll join Robert McBride in the Quarter Million Playoff and, as if that weren't enough, you'll also win this prize.
Rich: For your driving enjoyment, IT'S A BRAND NEW CAR! (audience cheers) The Dodge Viper SRT-10 Convertible -- an exciting car built for power and precision performance. It comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, 8.3 liter V10 engine and much more. The Dodge Viper SRT-10 Convertible!
(car music fades)
Doug: Mighty nice set of wheels indeed. Now, last place goes first in this part of the round. Mat, that's you. But first, tell us about yourself.
Mat: I'm Mat Tanga. I'm 14 years old,a freshman in high school. I love to watch game shows, play netgames, play basketball and watch wrestling which I'm obsessed with Trish Stratus.
Doug: Which reminds me -- the lowest scorer actually has to defend himself in a cage match. (light laughter from the crowd) Only kidding. Mat, pick five numbers, please.
Matt: I'll pick 5,10,15,20,and 24.
![]()
Doug: Oooh, not a good start. Just a pair of Jacks. Obviously you want a second turn. Now, I don't mean to tell you how to play this game but... (holds up car keys) ...trash the Jacks and 9 and trade 'em in for the other three Hearts higher than 9 and you win the Dodge Viper, 100-grand and a berth in the tournament.
Mat: For my age,I like to take a big risk.
Doug: Thanks for the plug for the other show. Which begs the question -- are we doing a "Trek" theme on TBR? (light laughter from the crowd) Hate to see Dirty Harry as a Ferengi. (more laughter) Anyway, how do you play it?
Mat: I'm going to exchange everything, but the hearts and pick 2, 14, and 22. (crossing fingers)
Doug: Very well...
Mat,
in
the
event
2,
