LOVE & MARRIAGE
Doug: Love & Marriage.
D.J.: Great. Four ex-husbands and we have to start the new season with that?
Doug: Sorry, Deej. Luck of the draw. Here's how Love & Marriage works. I'll name a famous person and you identify his or her current spouse. You must identify the current spouse by first and last name. And with many Hollywood marriages being fickle, we must note the information in this round is current as of today's typing.
(light laughter from the crowd)
Doug: Each time you chime in and correctly identify a spouse, you earn 10 points and the right to select one of two cards for your hand. Just like last season, the card you decline goes to your opponent. We'll keep playing until you each have four cards. Then, the fifth pair of cards come down the chute face down and we'll play for 15 points.
The player with the better hand collects an extra 25 points. The player with the better score wins the round and moves on to play against Robert for the championship.
Jay cut the cards during the break since he finished in second place in the last round. Deej, first two cards, please.
D.J.: "Luck of the Draw" -- I liked that Tim Connolly show, BTW.
D.J.: Ah, geez. We're talking about marriage and we start with two Hearts. (light laughter from the crowd) The 10 of Hearts and the 9 of Hearts.
Doug: Oh, the irony. Jay and Eddie, good luck and here's the first famous person. Remember, we're looking for the first and last name of his or her spouse.
Nicole Kidman
Doug: Jay.
Jay: Tom Cruise.
Doug: Oh, no, not the current spouse. Eddie, 10 points if you can tell me.
Eddie: Since she broke up with Tom, I don't know. Sooooo...pass.
Doug: Oh, and she just got married recently. I turn to our audience. On the count of three, tell us the right answer. One, two, three.
Nearly everyone in audience: Keith Urban
Doug: The audience wins 10 points. (audience cheers) Unfortunately, you don't get a card. (audience laughs) We'll just move on to the next celebrity. The same 10 and 9 of Hearts remain up for grabs. This time we're looking for the current spouse of...
Tim McGraw
Doug: Eddie.
Eddie: I think this one is still ongoing -- Faith Hil.
Doug: And you think correctly.
JAY EDDIE ![]()
![]()
[NOTE FROM DOUG: Eddie misspelled Faith Hill's last name. This is a theme that does not require correct spellings.]
Doug: OK, Eddie, you have the first points of the round. Which card?
Eddie: Suppose I'll take the ten.
Doug: The 10's yours...
JAY
EDDIE
Doug: ...and Jay gets the 9. I should remind any new viewers watching just like in Video Poker, no cards are lower than a 9. Two more cards, please.
D.J.: And this time, the Queen of Diamonds and the 9 of Clubs.
Doug: And here's your next famous married person.
President George W. Bush
Doug: Eddie again.
Eddie: Laura Bush.
Doug: Right again. (audience applause) As you can tell, this theme isn't limited to just entertainment marriages. Anyone in the public eye's fair game. Eddie, which card?
Eddie: Mmm...well, I hate to give a pair away, but I don't like being stuck with 10-9 either...I think I'll take the lady.
Doug: Very well. We'll see how that strategy works...
JAY
EDDIE
Doug: ...Eddie with Queen-10 and Jay indeed with a pair of 9s. Eddie also leads 20 to nothing. Two more cards, please.
D.J.: And we have the Jack of Hearts and the King of Diamonds.
Doug: Alrighty. Jay, let's see if you can get on the scoreboard with this one...
Angelina Jolie
Doug: Eddie.
Eddie: Brad Pitt?
Doug: You -- realize you don't have to respond in question form on this show. (audience laughs) Brad Pitt's right.
JAY EDDIE ![]()

Doug: Eddie pitching a shutout so far. Which card?
Eddie: I'll grab the king.
Doug: Thought you might.
JAY
EDDIE
Doug: ...Jay now with a pair of 9s and a Jack. Eddie with King-Queen-10 -- three-fifths of the way toward a straight. Two more cards, please.
D.J.: The K of Clubs and the Queen of Hearts.
Doug: OK, both players will build on one pair going into the blind card question. Jay, you could use some points here. Next famous person.
Regis Philbin
Doug: Jay.
Jay: Joy Philbin
Doug: And you're on the board.
JAY EDDIE ![]()
![]()
Doug: Well, Jay, you could still pull this out. Which card will help you here?
Jay: Neither card is going to be bad for him, but I'll take the King since it's higher.
Doug: A cowboy for you and a lady for Eddie...
JAY
EDDIE
Doug: ...and as we go into the blind card question -- no offense, Eddie -- our sportswriter has two Queens, a King and a 10; Jay has two 9s, a Jack and a King. Let's bring on the final two cards of the round.
Doug: With the fifth pair in the round, we up the stakes and make the question worth 15 points.
Jay, this means you'll have to buzz in, answer correctly and then hope to draw a King, Jack or 9 in order to have a chance to win this round. Eddie, just buzz in and answer correctly -- and you'll have more than enough points to win the round. Here we go with our next famous person who has tied the knot.
Andrea Mitchell
Doug: Jay.
Jay: Alan Greenspan.
Doug: Former Federal Reserve Bank chairman -- that's right.
JAY EDDIE ![]()

Doug: OK, Jay, player with the better hand moves on to Joker Poker. Which card do you think helps you?
Jay: I'll take the left card.
JAY
EDDIE
Doug: OK, we have our cards in place. Jay, we'll start with you. Again, a 9, Jack or King will help you. Anything else and Eddie goes to the Joker Poker round. Let's see Jay's last card first, please.
JAY
EDDIE
Doug: Ace of Hearts. (audience groans) Jay, you end the round with two 9s and Eddie is building on two Queens. So, Eddie's going to win 25 points and this round. (winning bells; audience applause) Final score, 55-to-25. Just for the heck of it, what was Eddie's last card.
JAY
EDDIE
Doug: Ace of Clubs. Oh, Jay, you were in a catch-22. I hate it when that happens. However, you don't leave empty-handed. We'll give you CY$10 for every point this round. That's CY$250, some lovely parting gifts and a delicious hors d'oeuvres. (light laughter from the crowd) Plus you take our great thanks for playing. Jay Cross everyone.

Doug: Eddie, chance to collect CY$5000. It's behind one of the letters in the word "POKER" on the video screen. Which letter would you like?
Eddie: Hmmm...My Spidy Sense tells me the big money is behind the O.
Doug: Does our friendly neighborhood sportswriter win five-grand with an O?

Doug: Nope. CY$2000. Next highest prize on the board. (smooth jazz theme plays) When we come back, Robert plays against Eddie for the championship. One of them will play for CY$90,000. We'll find out who wins this game after this word. (audience applause)
