Deuces Wild Poker Doug: He started the first season as champion. And now, in our second season debut, Robert McBride is a champ again. Robert, you know how this works.

Doug: We've randomly hidden ten outlaws on the board. One's in the top row, two in the second, three in the third, four in the bottom row. You'll pick a number from each row. Each time you don't draw an outlaw card, you win a wild Deuce. The more Deuces you win, the better your chances of making a CY$20,000 royal flush. But, if you win four Deuces and avoid all the outlaws, you win the Outlaw's Jackpot worth CY$90,000.

Doug: Incidentally, I think 90-grand is Lisa's annual salary. (laughs from the crew) And she hardly does a thing to earn it!
Nelson: (over loud speaker) Bitter, party of one!
Doug: Again, inside joke. Good luck, Robert. We're all rooting for you now. Let's start at the top row. Pick a number.
Robert: I can't lose the jackpot instantly again with #1, so I'm going with it.
Doug: Starting with 1. Come on, no outlaw.
![]()
Doug: Good beginning.
![]()
Doug: One down, three to go. Two outlaws to avoid on the second row. Pick a number.
Robert: 8
Doug: The snowman. Does he win another deuce with 8?
![]()
Doug: Yes he does.
![]()
Doug: Fifty-fifty time now on the third row. Three outlaws to avoid. Hope you can win the Deuce of Clubs on this row.
Robert: 14
Doug: If number 14 hides no outlaw, we go for the jackpot on the bottom row. Let's see 14.
![]()
Doug: Oh boy.
![]()
Doug: Robert, you have three Deuces. That assures you of CY$2000. Better than the skunking you got the last time you played this. There's one more Deuce to play for. It's the Deuce of Diamonds. Always the toughest to win since there are four outlaws on the bottom row. Avoid them and you win CY$90,000. (hoots and hollers from the crowd) Good luck and make your selection.
Robert: 20
Doug: Number 20 it is...
Robert,
if
the
number
twenty
does
not
hide
an
outlaw
card,
you
will
collect
ninety
thousand
cyber-
dollars
and
be
the
first
player
in
the
second
Quarter
Million
Playoff
on
Net
Poker.
Let's
take
a
look
at
number
twenty.

Doug: YOU DID IT!
(slot machine payoff sfx; audience cheers)
Doug: Robert McBride, I think it's fair to say you've turned your luck around 180 degrees. Last endgame resulted in you winning no cyber-money. This time, the jackpot.

Doug: D.J.'s just placed your fourth Deuce. But now, she has a fifth card for you.
D.J.: That's right. Oh, Robert, I'm so happy for you. You've won four Deuces -- but that fifth space is empty. Here's what I want you to do.
D.J.: Just take this Outlaw's Jackpot card over there on the board and you'll get your CY$90,000.

(slot machine payoff sfx; audience cheers)
Doug: And one more thing. Robert, you must've felt awfully confident because in the event you ran into even one outlaw, you would be building a poker hand right about now and we offered you a chance to cut the cards for that poker game. However, you declined to cut.
It all worked out in the end and we welcome you into the second Quarter Million Playoff with...
![]()
Doug: ...total winnings of CY$103,100. (audience cheers) And there's more. You're eligible to come back on the next program to defend your championship. If you can win that next game, you'll win another CY$100,000 and a new car. (more cheers) And we'll seed a new Outlaw's Jackpot with CY$50,000. So you could win a quarter million before the Quarter Million Playoff.
We gotta take a... what? Oh, almost forgot. In all this celebrating, I forgot we did have ten outlaws. Where were they?
![]()
Doug: There they were. (smooth jazz theme plays) *Now* we'll take our break, come back and play an audience game -- right after this.
