Game 26's 5-Card PokerD.J.: After an exciting game in the tournament, we need a break. So here to resume the main game they started on the last show are Robert McBride and Matt Taylor.

Doug: Thank you, D.J. Yes, that was one dynamite game. Incidentally, our scoreboard malfunctioned at the end of that game and Andy actually won it with CY$9500 -- not CY$8500.
Now that we have that straight, let me catch you up to speed in case you missed the last show. Due to various circumstances, we already had a full slate of contestants for a main game. Rather than make 'em wait, we decided to bring them here to Tunica and play their game over the course of the QMP mini-series.
On the last show, Robert and Matt lost the Video Poker round -- which was won by Dustin Riley. We'll see him in the championship show as well as one of these players will go against Dustin Riley in the final round of this main game. Winner of this game will play Deuces Wild Poker for the progressive Outlaw's Jackpot worth CY$82,500.
Doug: Matt cut the cards for this round of 5-Card Poker. Let's see the first two cards of this round.
D.J.: And we start this round with the King of Clubs and the King of Diamonds.
Doug: Just a reminder, we're playing under normal rules -- so that means scoring units are back to being points. Questions are worth 10 points each -- until we get to the blind-card pair, then the query's worth 15. Player with the better hand wins 25 points. Player with the better score goes to the championship show to play against Dustin in Joker Poker.
The word "murder"...
\ is the last word in an Alfred Hitchcock movie title
\ refers to a group of geese
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Robert.
Robert: The last word in a movie title, which is "Dial M for Murder".
Doug: Right on all counts.
ROBERT MATT ![]()

Doug: "Murder" also refers to a group of crows. Robert, which King would you like?
Robert: The King in Diamonds, because I love diamonds, even though I've never had them.
D.J.: Just a hint, Robert. Ladies love the diamonds, too. :)
ROBERT
MATT
Doug: Deej, what have I told you about flirting with the players? (light laughter from the crowd) Two more cards on the way.
D.J.: I wasn't flirting. Just giving advice. The Jack of Spades and the 9 of Diamonds.
Doug: And let's test your knowledge of technology...
In the year 1976, Apple Computer, Inc., was founded by Steve...
\ Jobs
\ Case
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Robert.
Robert: Steve Jobs!
Doug: Right Steve! (audience applause) Apple founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Robert, again you choose the card.
Robert: I attempting a possible flush, so I'll take the nine.
Doug: Still liking the Diamonds...
ROBERT
MATT
Doug: ...we'll see if they become your best friend. Next cards from the top of the deck are a comin' down the chute.
D.J.: Still, Robert, don't forget. The ladies love the diamonds. The 10 of Clubs and the Ace of Hearts.
Doug: Well, no flush opportunity. Robert could pad the lead on this question. Matt, I see ya trying to buzz in; let's see if you can score on this...
In the 2001 movie Serendipity, Kate Beckinsale played the...
\ female lead character
\ part of Lana Wallace
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Matt.
Matt: I believe all of the above.
Doug: Not the right choice. Robert, chance to steal.
Robert: Female lead character?
Doug: That's it.
ROBERT MATT ![]()

Doug: Kate as the female lead played the part of Sara Thomas. Robert, big lead. Which card?
Robert: This is a tough call, but I'll take the ten.
(a few groans from the crowd)
Doug: I can see why...
ROBERT
MATT
Doug: ...a 9 and an Ace in hand does not help toward making a straight. Let's see two more cards.
D.J.: The 10 of Diamonds and the Jack of Diamonds.
Doug: And for the next question, we turn to literature...
Actress Pamela Anderson is the author of the book...
\ Star
\ Star Struck
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Robert.
Robert: Star Struck
Doug: Not the right choice. Matt, chance to get on the scoreboard.
Matt: Complete guess, but I'll say none of the above.
Doug: No, it's actually "all of the above". Star was published in 2004; Star Struck in '05. Same cards remain up for grabs -- next query...
Isaac Newton was...
\ a mathematician
\ an ordained priest
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Matt.
Matt: all
Doug: We'll accept that and you're on the board.

Doug: You don't have to repeat a choice verbatim -- just as long as you respond enough to the point we know what answer you're selecting. Matt, you finally got some points. Which card?
Matt: I'll take the jack.
Doug: And with that...
ROBERT
MATT
Doug: ...Matt still could pull this out. He leads on the hands two Jacks to two 10s. However, the stat that matters is the score -- and Robert's leading 30 to 10. As we bring in the final two cards for the round...
Doug: ...Matt, you'll have to chime in and answer correctly in order to have a chance to win. Robert, all you need to do is chime in and answer correctly. Fifteen points at stake. Here's your blind card question...
Singer Sheena Easton was...
\ born in Ireland
\ Prince's duet partner for the song "U Got The Look"
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Matt.
Matt: Random guess but I'll say none of the above.
Doug: Not right. Robert, you can win the round right here if you pick the right answer.
Robert: Prince's dance partner for "U Got The Look"
Doug: Second choice actually read "duet partner". Judge?
Judge Von Erik: (over loud speaker) The correct answer is "Prince's duet partner for the song 'U Got The Look'." Robert's close enough to the correct choice.
Doug: And that's a win. (winning bells; audience applause) Before we go any further, let's see what would've happened if Matt scored on that question. Matt, what card would you have selected?
Matt: Left.
Doug: The left. What was on the left?
D.J.: The 9 of Spades.
Doug: Well, that wouldn't have helped. Still a pair of Jacks for Matt. And the other card was what?
D.J.: The 9 of Hearts.
Doug: Either way, Robert would've ended up with two pair -- 10s and 9s -- and a winning hand. Matt, you were in a catch-22 with the cards.
Tell ya what let's do. We'll still adhere to the idea "close enough" counts when selecting an answer. But, I'm going to slightly overrule Judge Von Erik in the process.
Robert, we'll give you 25 points because you'd end up with the better hand -- but let's also transfer 15 of your points to Matt's score.

Doug: That way, there's no discussion as to who really won. Robert, you're going to the championship show, Matt, you've got CY$250 to spend at the gift shop, the buffet or anything else you'd like. Thanks for playing Net Poker and hope you enjoy the rest of your visit here to Tunica.

Doug: OK, Robert, chance to win CY$5000. It's hiding behind one of the letters in "POKER". Which letter?
Robert: I'd like the P for pistol. Let's shoot down the CY$5000.
Doug: He's aiming for P. Does he hit the bullseye with it?

Doug: And maybe free membership in the NRA. (audience laughs) Robert, we'll see you for the championship show against Dustin. Winner of that Joker Poker round wins the game and the right to play for CY$82,500. Meantime, we owe Andy Geller a shot at CY$50,000 in Deuces Wild. That's coming up when the Quarter Million Playoff resumes on Net Poker.
