Deuces Wild Poker

Doug: And welcome back to Net Poker. At the end of this episode, we'll reveal the seedings for the Quarter Million Playoff. Michael, as for you, let's see if we can send you into the tournament in a blaze of glory. Here's how...

Doug: ...there's one Outlaw card in the top row, two in the second, three in the third and four Outlaws in the bottom row. Each time you avoid an Outlaw, you win a Deuce -- which is wild and can be used for anything when building your poker hand. The more Deuces you win, the better the chances for winning CY$20,000.

In the event you win all four Deuces, forget about playing poker. You'll win the Outlaw's Jackpot -- presently worth CY$77,500.

(audience cheers)

Doug: OK, let's start at the top. One Outlaw to avoid.

Michael: I'll take number 1 in row 1.

Doug: Row 1, number 1, let's not see the one Outlaw.

(bing)

Doug: Good start.

(audience applause)

Doug: Next row down has two Outlaws. You're playing for the Deuce of Hearts this time.

Michael: Since your radio show's been on for 10 years, I'll take 10.

Doug: And I've also been married 10 months. (waves to camera) Hi, Cindy. (audience laughs) So let's *really* hope no Outlaw's hiding at 10.

(bing)

Doug: Two for two.

(audience applause)

Doug: Two Deuces away from CY$77,500. We now play for the Deuce of Clubs on the third row. Three Outlaws to avoid this time.

Michael: I'll take the Alice Cooper number: 18.

Doug: He's elected 18. (pause) "Elected" -- that's another Alice Cooper song, people. (audience laughs) Nevermind. If there's no Outlaw card at 18, we go for the big jackpot at the bottom. Show us 18.

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!")(audience groans)

Doug: Dare I say, Michael, you ran into -- "Poison". Well, let's play for another Deuce at the bottom row. Four Outlaws to avoid this time.

Michael: As Doug said on Net Deal or No Deal aka Net Take The Money or Don't Take the Money, "Hit me. 21."

Doug: For your sake, Michael, I hope you don't bust with 21. Come on, Deuce of Diamonds.

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!")(audience groans)

Doug: Crud. :( Well, first, let's reveal the other locations of the Outlaws...

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: ...and there they were. Now, Michael, before we move on, I need to note we're still unsure as to whether we'll be able to start the tournament on the next program. If we do, note that we do play the Deuces Wild endgame throughout the Quarter Million Playoff -- but not for the escalating jackpot. Next time we play Deuces Wild under normal circumstances, someone will play for...

Doug: ...CY$82,500. (audience cheers) Since you ran into two Outlaws, we added CY$2500 per Outlaw. OK, that's in the future. Here's the present...

Doug: ...during the break, we had you cut a deck of cards. Those are the first two from the top of the deck you cut during that break. You'll choose one card -- and the other will be discarded immediately. We'll do this with the next two pairs of cards from the top of the deck. By then, your hand will be complete and you'll win cyber-cash based on this paytable...

Doug: ...draw cards higher than a 9 all of the same suit and I promise you CY$20,000. ((audience cheers) Of course, with two Deuces, you're assured of CY$500. But I know you want 20-grand. Let's start building that winning hand. Left or right card?

Michael: right card

Doug: Right card. D.J., we're looking for a good start.

D.J.: The 9 of Diamonds.

(a few groans)

Doug: Well, 20-grand's impossible -- but...

Doug: ...draw two more 9s and you make CY$10,000. Next pair, fellers.

Doug: And from this new pair, left or right?

Michael: left card

Doug: The left. We'd love to see another 9.

D.J.: Queen of Spades, instead.

Doug: Well, the best we can hope for now is two-grand with four of a kind.

Doug: Another lady or 9 will give you 2000. Let's hope it's among...

Doug: ...this last pair. Left or right?

Michael: left card

Doug: Left card. Come on Queen or come on 9.

D.J.: Oh, Michael, prettiest card in the deck doesn't look pretty with the others. Sorry.

(audience groans)

Doug: And I know that's not the way you wanted to end your reign. But its ends with a payoff of CY$500.

Doug: But, let's look at the positive. Michael, you've won a new Porsche Cayenne Turbo; trips to Washington, the British Virgin Islands and Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp; your weight in silver *plus*...

Doug: ...CY$168,500. (audience cheers) I think that's good for second seed honors. (smooth jazz theme plays) And we have time for a full audience game. We'll play it after this. (more cheers)
