Deuces Wild Poker

Doug: And welcome back to Net Poker. Dustin, you just about won everything there is to win up to this point. Now, let's see if you can win big here in BonusLand. Here's how.

Doug: In a moment, you'll pick one number from each row. There's one Outlaw card in the top row, two in the second row, three in the third and four in the bottom row. Each time you do *NOT* run into an Outlaw, you win a Deuce -- which is wild and can be used for anything when your five-card hand is complete.

In the event you avoid all the Outlaws and win four Deuces, you'll win the CY$75,000 Outlaw's Jackpot.

(audience cheers)

Doug: OK, Dustin. Let's start at the top row. Numbers 1-6. Avoid the Outlaw here and you win the Deuce of Spades.

(Dustin looks out into the audience; his friend is yelling "FOUR!")

Dustin: Gotta go with the man. #4 on the top.

Doug: For a minute there, it sounded like he was trying to play a round of golf. (audience laughs) Well, did Dustin's friend help him get off to a good start?

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: Yes he did.

Doug: And D.J. places your first Deuce in your hand. Next row down. Numbers 7-12. Two Outlaws to bypass and you're playing for the Deuce of Hearts this time.

Dustin: I'll take lucky number 7.

Doug: Lucky 7. Is it lucky for our champ?

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: Not this night. Well, let's go after the remaining Deuces. Next row means 50/50 time. Three Outlaws there. Avoid them and you win the Deuce of Clubs.

Dustin: Here's hoping for number 15.

Doug: Yeah, let's see if you can get back on the winning track with 15.

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: There ya go.

Doug: OK, let's go three-for-four, Dustin. Last Deuce is always the toughest to win since there are four Outlaws on that bottom row. Avoid them and you win the Deuce of Diamonds. Pick a number that's not housing an Outlaw.

Dustin: (crosses fingers) Number twenty?

Doug: Number 20, he asks for. If there's no Outlaw there, you'll have three wild cards to play with. Come on, Deuce!

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: And there you have it.

Doug: Three Deuces, Dustin. Not bad for a first effort. Let's go back to the big screen and reveal where those other nine mean ol' Outlaws were.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: There they were. OK, Dustin, you can't win CY$75,000 -- but CY$20,000 could be won in the next few moments if you play the cards right -- and if you gave the deck a good cut. During the break, we had you cut the cards and the first two cards from the top of the deck will be coming down the chute... right... about...

Doug: ...now. In a moment, you'll choose one of these cards and the other will be discarded immediately. We'll repeat this process with the next pair from the deck.

Doug: Since you possess three Deuces, the worst that could happen is four of a kind for CY$2000. But if you can draw cards higher than a 9 and they're of the same suit, you'll make a royal flush for CY$20,000. (audience cheers) So, which card would you like from this first pair -- left or right?

(time passes) (buzz)

Doug: No decision in time. 'Fraid I have to make an executive decision and toss a coin for you, Dustin. (pulls out quarter from pocket) I'll flip the coin in the air and let it land on the floor. If it's heads, you get the left card; tails, the right.

(Doug flips)

Doug: It's heads and what card does he get as a result?

D.J.: Oh, the 9 of Diamonds.

(a few groans from the crowd)

Doug: Well, rats.

Doug: No 20,000 possibibility. But if there's a 9 among this last pair and you can find it, you win CY$10,000.

Doug: New pair -- left or right?

(time passes) (buzz)

Doug: Another missed deadline, another coin flip. (flips) Heads again. So we go to the left card. Is it a 9 for CY$10,000?

D.J.: Sorry, it's a King.

Doug: Well, we knew CY$2000 was in the cards for sure, Dustin...

Doug: ...and 2000 it shall be. Now, we'll add this to your prior winnings for a total of...

Doug: ...CY$12,750. (audience applause) Now, Dustin, you ran into one Outlaw. That means we add CY$2500 more to the jackpot. You, Michael or someone else will have a chance to win CY$77,500.

(audience cheers) (smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: Got a little bit of time for the audience game after this on Net Poker.

======================================================================
Turns out regardless of which cards Dustin would decide upon, he was
destined for a CY$2000 four of a kind.

+------------+------------+
| 9 Diamonds | A Diamonds | (1st pair)
+------------+------------+
| K Clubs |10 Clubs | (2nd pair)
+------------+------------+

In the first pair, there were diamonds -- but no diamond in the
second pair. Also, no potential for a natural pair.
