OK, we got Game 22 of Net Poker in the archives. So, let's start lookin' for players for Game 23.

A few notes...

\ Unless your the champ, please sit on your hands if you played in the main game of Game 20, 21 or 22.

\ Michael Clifford, said champ, has won more than CY$30,000 plus a trip to Washington, D.C. and is defending his crown for the first time.

\ The Outlaw's Jackpot is up to CY$72,500. In the event Michael wins this game *and* the jackpot, he'll have more than enough to qualify for the Quarter Million Playoff.

...now on to the question. The two players closest to the right answer, high or low, play against Michael. And away we go...

To the nearest dollar, how much money does the average sitcom writer make per episode?

(time passes)

Some of you may be surprised. According to one of those Pop Up Video-inspired factoids on GSN's Poker Royale, the actual amount is...

QUALIFYING ANSWER
$11,745

(ding)

...eleven-grand and change. So, just think, if you wrote even the crummiest of episodes of Wednesday 9:30 (8:30 Central), you're still taking home some serious coin. In any event, who came the closest?

Gus Polly $ 2,305

Oy! You missed it by a mile and a half, Gus. But you're in. Next closest is...

Chris J. Clark	$ 1,000

...Chris with his bid of a grand. Standby. Net Poker's comin' at'cha.

Rich Jeffries: Net Roker Poker (audience laughs) will not be seen
at this time. In its place, we bring you a program where a contestant
will try to continue his championship *rain*.

(smooth jazz theme plays) (fade into one-shot of champion)

Rich: This is our current champion, Michael Clifford. So far, he has won one game, a trip to Washington, D.C. and a total of CY$31,150. He is back to play the card game where high hands can bring high rewards. This is Net Poker.

(audience cheers)

Rich: And now, from Studio 63, here's the star of our show, Doug Morris!

(Doug walks out from behind the video poker screen)

Doug: Thanks, Rich Jeffries. Hellooooooooo, everybody and welcome to Net Poker. As Rich just alluded to, we crowned a new champion on the last program. He won a lot of cyber-money and a great vacation. In the event he wins this game and then the CY$72,500 in the Outlaw's Jackpot, he'll qualify for our Quarter Million Playoff. However, a couple of challengers want to prevent him from doing all that. Here to introduce all our players is our dealer, D.J. Hamilton.

(audience applause) (D.J. walks out wearing a dark pink strapless dress)

D.J.: Hi everyone. Ah, there's a touch of fall in the air.

Doug: Oh, it's getting cooler outside Studio 63.

D.J.: Of course, the lousy thing about the seasons is I have an ex-hubby for each one. I divorced in the fall, years again later in the winter...

(audience laughs)

Doug: Bitter, party of one.

D.J.: You kid because you care.

Doug: Indeed. Who's here to play our little game.

D.J.: Michael's back and he will defend against Gus Polly and Chris J. Clark.

MICHAEL
GUS
CHRIS

(ding) (audience cheers)

Doug: Thanks, Deej. Welcome back Michael and we're glad to have Gus and Chris aboard. We've spotted each of you 10 points to start this round of...
