At long last, it's time for Game 22 of Net Poker. Good to get back in the swing of things. Since we've been away for so long, a few notes...
\ Rick Morris (no relation) is our returning champion with on win and CY$8500.
\ Outlaw's jackpot has grown to an even CY$70,000.
\ The trip to Washington, DC, unclaimed from the last episode, is up for grabs in this episode.
\ With this being Game 22, if you played in Game 19, 20 or 21, please sit on your hands and let someone else win. Of course, if you're on retired status, you'll have to wait 'til the Quarter Million Playoff (which will start as soon as we find our fourth CY$99,999+ winner).
\ Unrelated to Net Poker, I'll display play by play on Net ShowDown and NMG-HSH ASAP in an HTML light format on their respective websites (still have a bunch of projects to conquer on the old 'puter... would've been done by now had it not been for Hurricane Katrina!).
OK. Time for the qualifying question. The two players closest to this question, high or low, challenge Rick. Away we go...
Before the show, we spun a European Roulette wheel (no "double zero" space; just a single 0 and the integers 1 through 36, inclusive). What number did the ball land on?
(time passes)
No more bets, please. How'd we do?
QUALIFYING ANSWER
32 RED
Heh, 32 red. Well, we're looking for those closest to 32. And they are...
Michael Clifford 26...Michael, Michael, motorcycle and...
Brian Moore 18 Jason Wuthrich 18...one of these two. The player who locked in sooner joins Michael and Rick.
Brian Moore 18It's Brian. Jason, 'fraid it's back to the contestant pool. But great seeing you around this neighborhood again. Hope you'll hang around for an audience game. Meantime, we'll get Net Poker back on track after this.
====================================================================== Rich Jeffries: Tonight's episode of "Lost" will not be seen at this time. Because... uh... well... OK, I lost the tape containing tonight's episode of "Lost" that was supposed to air at this time. (audience laughs) Instead, we'll bring you the following... ======================================================================(smooth jazz theme plays) (fade into one-shot of champion)
Rich: This is our current champion, Rick Morris. So far, he has won one game and a total of CY$8500. He is back to play the card game where high hands can bring high rewards. This is Net Poker.

Rich: And now, from Studio 63, please welcome back the star of our show, Doug Morris!
(Doug walks out from behind the video poker screen)
(more cheers as the crowd gives Doug a standing ovation and he walks out from behind the video screen)
Doug: Oh, thank you everyone. Indeed, I've missed all of you -- and it's great to be back on VBS. Welcome to Net Poker, everyone. We've obviously had to take some time off in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Every day around these parts, there are signs of recovery -- and I know we'll fully back to normal soon.
The fun and games department here at Trax Productions is back up and running -- and we certainly couldn't operate without our dealer, D.J. Hamilton.
(D.J. walks out wearing a pair of blue jeans and an Ace of Hearts t-shirt ... similar to what Shannon Elizabeth wore in an episode of E! Hollywood Hold 'Em) (Deej gives Doug a big hug)
D.J.: Hey, friend. Glad you and Cindy are all right after the storm.
Doug: Thanks.
D.J.: So, when you two have children, I bet you're not naming a daughter "Katrina".
(audience laughs and applauds)
Doug: Yup, I don't think any newborn daughters here in the southeast will garner that name anytime soon. No offense intended to any lady currently named Katrina.
D.J.: Indeed. Well, we've met our champion. Challenging Rick today are Michael Clifford and Brian Moore.
