Doug: Gotta take five points back. Your road to the undefeated championship will have to go through 5-Card Poker. Dean, welcome aboard. You haven't been with us since our *pilot* episode. So, I know you're ready to go. Let's shuffle the cards...

(cards are shuffled on the video screen; after shuffling stops, the cards are covered immediately with the 24 numbers)

Doug: ...and before you pick five numbers, tell us the story of Dean Scungio.

Dean: I'm 28 and from Johnston, RI. I'm back in college studying teaching and I'm going to start student teaching this month. I'm also the host of 'Net Lingo.

Doug: Fun game indeed. Dean, instead of drawing two Lingo balls, you get to draw five Poker cards.

Dean: Give me...6, 8, 12, 15 and 21.

Doug: Let's take a look and see what you've made...

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: ...**yuck**! Worse than what John started with. You don't even have a pair. Unless you count the Clubs and Spades pairs. This is a combination guaranteed to make you fork over five points if you stopped here, Dean. So, please go ahead and make exchanges.

Dean: "Yuck" indeed. I'm going to go for some pairs or a three of a kind by keeping the King and drawing 5, 11, 17, 23.

Doug: OK, he hangs on to the King and ditches the rest. Dean, you're going to need two other Kings to at least be in it mathematically. Let's reveal those new selections in the next to last column...

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: ...not necessarily in that order, a 9, 10, Jack and Queen plus your original King make a 20 point straight.

Doug: Had you made three of a kind, you would've had to hope Brian would lose 5 points on his possession. Brian, instead...

(cards are shuffled on the video screen; after shuffling stops, the cards are covered immediately with the 24 numbers)

Doug: ...your task is to score any points. A 5-point penalty means Dean wins this round. Before we start your possession, introduce yourself to Mr. and Mrs. Internet.

Biran: Well, I'm Brian A. Henegar, I'm 22. I work for Jewelry Television, a home-shopping company (I'm one of the operators who are standing by). If I can give a quick plug we can be found www.jewelrytelevision.com I love to read, write, and play video games, I'm an Elvis fan, and I love James Bond.

Doug: Hmm, Jewelry TV. With my wedding coming up later this year, I'll have to give you a jingle. Meantime, it's time to break the tie you have with Dean. Pick five numbers, please.

Brian: In honor of my mother, I'll use her birthday 12, 18, 19, 5, 3

Doug: OK, let's see if Mom helps you make a winning combination.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: Well, you have a pair of 9s -- but that's going to knock you down to second place and Dean would win the round. So, it's time to make exchanges.

Brian: I'll keep the nines, and try my Birthday 7, 2, 9

D.J.: (gasps) Uh oh.

Doug: What?

D.J.: All this talk of birthdays just made me realize I forgot Kim Myers' birthday. (light laughter from the crowd) Happy birthday, girl. Dinner and drinks are on me!

Doug: May I continue?

D.J.: Sure.

Doug: OK, Brian's hanging on to his 9s. If gets another 9, a pair of anything or three of anything, he wins. Otherwise, Dean goes straight to Joker Poker. What's behind 7, 2 and 9?

(FF reveal sfx) (Trivia Trap sfx)

Doug: A Jack, Ace and Queen, respectively. Dean, you win the round.

Doug: Dean, congratulations. Time for you to win some cyber-cash and perhaps a great trip.

Doug: Behind the letters in the word "POKER" are cyber-cash amounts from CY$500 to CY$5000. In a moment, you'll choose a letter in "POKER" and collect whatever cyber-cash is hiding behind that letter.

In addition, if a "TRIP" card appears above your chosen letter, you win this great trip. We've been trying to give this vacation away for awhile. Ghost of Jay Stewart, where might Dean be going?

(smooth jazz theme plays)

TGoJS: A trip to Jamaica. (audience cheers) You and a guest will fly first class, round trip to Negril, Jamaica where you'll spend six nights at a luxury hotel. Lay on the beach, snorkel, dive, fish or sail in this thriving vacation paradise. Enjoy Jamaica -- compliments of Club Universe. (theme fades)

Doug: Nice trip indeed. Dean, pick one letter in "POKER", please.

Dean: Ooh, Jamaica. Give me the K, please.

Doug: The K. Let's see what's behind it first.

(bing)

Doug: CY$2000. Will you spend it on souvenirs in Jamaica?

(bing)

Doug: No. Trip was above the P.
