Deuces Wild Poker Doug: Welcome back to Net Poker. As you know, we tape our show at VBS63, QRTX cybervision. And with CY$213,000 to his name, I'm standing next to the station's new owner, John Menjes. (audience laughs and applauds) We'll give you a tour of the Action Newsroom later. But right now, it's time to win *even more* cyber-cash in Deuces Wild Poker. And here's how ya do it...

Doug: As you know by now, we've randomly hidden ten outlaw cards. One in the top row, two in the second, three in the third and four in the bottom row.
In a moment, you'll pick one number from each row. Each time you do not run into an outlaw, you win a Deuce. As the name of the endgame suggests, you may use the Deuces you win for anything when your poker hand is complete.
The more Deuces you win, the better your chances of winning CY$20,000. However, if you bypass all the outlaws and win four Deuces, you'll collect everything in the Outlaw's Jackpot. Right now, it's worth CY$57,500.

Doug: You've won an Outlaw's Jackpot before. Let's see you do it again and *really* go out in a blaze of glory. Top row has just one outlaw. Avoid him and you win the Deuce of Spades.
John: I'd like the 2 please.
Doug: Stands to reason. Does he win a 2 with 2?

Doug: He does.

Doug: Second row has two outlaws. Avoid them and you'll get the Deuce of Hearts.
John: The 8 please.
Doug: Numero ocho. Another Deuce for John?

Doug: Two down, two to go.

Doug: Now, as Bill Griffeth used to say on FNN's What's News?, it's 50-50 time. Three outlaws on the third row. Pick one of the three good numbers and you get the Deuce of Clubs plus play for CY$50,000 on the bottom row.
John: The 13, please.
Doug: Lucky 13. Is it a good one?

Doug: Woah boy!

Doug: John, as you are well aware, in your first chance at Deuces Wild Poker, you won a pot worth CY$102,500. You now have a chance to win CY$57,500. There are four outlaws to avoid. If you don't run into an outlaw on that bottom row, the jackpot is yours. Which number?
John: The 20 please.
Doug: The 20...
If
there
is
no
outlaw
behind
the
number
20,
you

*another*
Outlaw's
Jackpot
on

D.J.: Uh, Doug, I bet the accountants are needing the paramedics now.
Doug: I bet. By the way, where were the outlaws hiding?
![]()
Doug: There ya have 'em. John, we'll let you do the honors again. But, before we officially wrap up your championship, how do you feel?
John: It's been quite a run. I'm still a bit amazed that everything fell into place to make this streak go. Like they say, when you're hot, you're hot...and I sure hit a hot streak.
Doug: There's another Bruce Forsythe joke here somewhere -- but the floor director's giving me the "hurry up" signal. Deej gave this to you before -- and she's about to do it again.
D.J.: Before I give you this card, John, suppose you can help spring for a dinner for three? (audience laughs) Seriously, John, I give you the Outlaw's Jackpot card. Just place it in that fifth spot and the cyber-money's yours.
(John takes card; places it in the last blank spot)

Doug: ...two-hundred seventy-thousand five-hundred cyber-dollars -- *plus* an Aston Martin DB9. And with a new jackpot starting at 50-grand, another champ's going to have to get much luckier than you to win more than that amount. We need to take a break, probably play about 10,000 commercials and play an audience game after this.
