5-Card Poker

Doug: Sue, BTW, was part of the video game Ms. Pac-Man. Congrats, John, you'll have a chance to add to your huge total in just a moment. JD, thanks for playing. You win CY$10 for every point you scored in this round. That's CY$100. And we thank you for playing. Nice hand for Jon Darrall. (audience applause)

Doug: OK, John, chance at CY$5000 and perhaps a trip to Jamaica in the process. Pick a letter in "POKER".

John: The O, please.

Doug: The O it is and you win...

(bing)

Doug: ...CY$500 more. But do you win the trip, too?

(bing)

Doug: Nope. It was above the P this time.

Doug: But when we come back, John will put his crown on the line against Michael in Joker Poker -- when Net Poker continues.

(audience applause)

OK, before you write angry e-mails on that Pac-Man question, I'll admit -- the question should've gone into a little more depth.

In the video game Pac-Man, Sue was not one of the ghosts chasing the little yellow guy. But in the Saturday morning cartoon series that was based on the video game and aired on ABC, Sue was on that show.

While I'm genuinely sorry for any and all misunderstanding on that question, turns out it did not affect the outcome of the round.

I've checked the blind cards and they were both red 9s.

JOHN

JD

Had JD scored 15 points on the blind card question, he would've had a 9 either way, John still would've won 25 points for the high hand and the final score would've been 55-25.

If JD had better cards to choose from, we'd be inviting him back on a future Net Poker episode.

But again, since those cards weren't in his favor and we had an errant question, we'll bump up JD's consolation prize to CY$500.
