Doug: ...and as a result, we have a three-way tie. But it won't be this way for long. Now, before Jon Darrall took command of the board, we had a tie for the lead between John Menjes and Michael. Since that tie involved the champion, the rules say control should go to the champ. So that means John M. is up next up to bat -- after we shuffle the cards.

Doug: And they're ready for you, champ. Make your selections, please.
John M.: Hmmm...I'd like 7, 14, 21, 23, and 24, please.
Doug: The three multiples of 7 plus 23 and 24. Let's see what lurks behind the numbers...

Doug: Well, you're starting with two pair. You have 10 points if you stopped here. If you feel you can do better, you may take your second turn.
John M.: I'll keep the pair, and change that 9 of Spades, looking for a full house. Number 2, please.
Doug: OK, hanging on to the pair of pairs. Does he get another 10 or Jack?
![]()
Doug: Nope. Well, at least it was an even trade, John.

Doug: You dumped one black 9 and got another. Michael, this means you will need at least two pair for a tie. If you get three of a kind or a better hand, you win the round. Before you make any moves, we need to shuffle...

Doug: ...and we're ready for you.
Michael: I'll go with 1, 2, 6, 11, & 24.
Doug: Okie doke. Let's see what's behind the numbers...

Doug: Well. (smattering of applause) Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10. That's a straight for 20 points. Now, you could take these 20 points and the win -- or if you're feeling risky and, ya know, want to try for the royal flush... (holds up keys) ...you may take your second turn.
Michael: Since I still don't know how to drive, I'll take the win.
Doug: Ah, using the Keith Olbermann strategy. In any event, you win the round.

Doug: Michael's no fool. He's played this game before and knows to seize the opportunity when it comes. Michael, chance to win CY$5000 and maybe a nice prize in the process.

Doug: I'm going to ask you to pick a letter in the word "POKER". Behind them are various amounts of cyber-money between CY$500 and CY$5000 inclusive. In addition, above one of those cyber-cash amounts is a "trip" card. If the "trip" appears above your selected letter, here's the trip you're going on.
TGoJS: A trip to Jamaica. (audience cheers) You and a guest will fly first class, round trip to Negril, Jamaica where you'll spend six nights at a luxury hotel. Lay on the beach, snorkel, dive, fish or sail in this thriving vacation paradise. Enjoy Jamaica -- compliments of Club Universe.
Doug: Sunny vacation indeed, Michael. Pick a letter.
Michael: I'll go with the O.
Doug: The O it is. First, let's check what's behind the O in "POKER".

Doug: But you still have CY$1000. You'll sit out the next round and play the winner of 5-Card Poker in Joker Poker. When we come back, it's John vs. Jon -- when Net Poker continues.
