(audience applause)

Doug: ...we gotta dock you 5 points. Better luck in the next round. Joe, our resident fan of Amy Jo Johnson, we'll shuffle the cards...

(cards are shuffled on the video screen; after shuffling stops, the cards are covered immediately with the 24 numbers)

Doug: ...and now, we await your five selections.

Joe: I'll take 2, 6, 7, 8 and 9 (for my birthday 9-26-78)

Doug: Rearranging the numbers of... oh wait, this isn't Net Blank Check. (light laughter from the crowd) Anyway, behind the numbers...

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: Well, now this is interesting. You're 4/5 of the way toward a flush. That's worth 25 points and mathematically you'd still be in it. Get the flush and then you'd have to hope John loses 5 points and you two would go to a tie-breaker. A full boat's worth 40 points and you'll need that to outscore John going into his possession. Tough decision. What do you do?

Joe: Toss the Q of Spades and give me 24.

Doug: OK, only two hearts left on the board. Let's see if you draw one of them...

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: YES!

(audience applause)

Doug: Twenty-five points for the flush. That puts pressure on the leader. John, let's shuffle the cards...

(cards are shuffled on the video screen; after shuffling stops, the cards are covered immediately with the 24 numbers)

Doug: ...now, you need at least a pair of Queens to pad your lead and win the round. First, a word or two about you, please.

John: Hi, I'm John Menjes, from Hollywood, FL. My hobbies include reading, bicycling, puzzle solving, and video games, and it's a pleasure to be here.

Doug: Well, we're glad to have you here. Pick 5 numbers, please.

John: OK, I'll pick 1, 6, 9, 10, and 12 please.

Doug: All righty, let's see if there's something good behind those numbers...

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: ...rough start for you too, in this half of the round. Just a pair of 9s.

Now, John, you could go ahead, stop here, take a 5-point penalty and then play the tie-breaker with Joe -- or you may make exchanges in the hope you can improve on what you have presently.

You're also 3/5 of the way toward a spaded flush -- and there's straight flush potential or even... (holds up car keys) ...royal flush potential if you're feeling lucky.

John: I'm going to take a chance and keep the pair of 9s, and try my luck with 7, 16, and 19, hoping for two pair or 3 of a kind.

Doug: Hanging on to the 9s and ditching the rest. Let's see if John wins the round or if we have a tie...

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: ...two pair -- Kings with the 9s. John wins.

(winning bells; audience applause)

Doug: Now, this means you get a chance to win cyber-cash and maybe a trip...

Doug: ...behind the five letters in the word "POKER" are cyber-cash amounts. They range in value from CY$500 to CY$5000. Above one of the letters in "POKER" is a special "TRIP" card. You'll pick one letter in "POKER" and collect whatever's behind the letter. In addition, if the "TRIP" card is above your chosen letter, you win this great vacation. Where might he be going, Ghost of Jay Stewart?

(smooth jazz theme plays)

TGoJS: A trip to Jamaica. (audience cheers) You and a guest will fly first class, round trip to Negril, Jamaica where you'll spend six nights at a luxury hotel. Lay on the beach, snorkel, dive, fish or sail in this thriving vacation paradise. Enjoy Jamaica -- compliments of Club Universe.

Doug: Indeed. Great trip. Pick a letter in "POKER", please.

John: The K, please.

Doug: The K. Is it worth five-K?

(bing)

Doug: Nope. Just CY$750. But, will he spend that cyber-cash on souvenirs on that Jamaican holiday?

(bing)

Doug: Well, not this time. Trip was above the E.

Doug: But you still have CY$750 and we'll see you later in the Joker Poker round. Chris and Joe, stand by for 5-Card Poker. One more question about Geoff Edwards. When you make a list of all the game show *pilots* Geoff hosted or co-hosted, you must include $50,000 A Minute, as we noted earlier. You also must include...

\ Copout!
\ Shoot For The Stars
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

Doug: ...we'll have the answer for you and 5-Card Poker after this.
