Deuces Wild Poker

Doug: And welcome back to Net Poker. Time to play Deuces Wild Poker with John Menjes for CY$102,500. First... (runs over to "Emile") ...for anyone just now joining us, with the jackpot so high, we had to hire someone to keep an eye on it. Emile Autouri's here. Emile, have you made sure that all that cyber-money's been accounted for?

"Emile": Yes I did.

Doug: And did you make sure no unauthorized person came even close to touching the jackpot?

"Emile": Yes I did.

Doug: And would you like to join us for dinner after the show?

("Emile" says nothing) (audience laughs)

Doug: I'll take that as a no. (runs back center stage) OK, John, with the details out of the way, here's how the endgame works...

Doug: During the break, we randomly hid 10 outlaw cards behind these numbers. There's one outlaw in the top row, two in the second row, three in the third and four on the bottom row. In a moment, you'll pick one number from each row. Each time you avoid an outlaw, you win a Deuce. As the name of the game implies, Deuces are wild. That means you can use it for anything when your poker hand's complete.

In the event you win four Deuces and leave all ten outlaws hidden, you win all the contents of the Outlaw's Jackpot -- CY$102,500.

(audience cheers)

Doug: And of course, with more than 100-grand in the pot, if you break this bank, you're headed for the Quarter Million Playoff later in the season. Let's start at the top row -- numbers 1 through 6. One outlaw to avoid. Deuce of Spades can be won if you avoid that hombre.

John: I'd like 4

Doug: Number 4. Brett Favre's number. Is it good for you?

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: Nice start, sir.

Doug: One down, three to go. Next row -- numbers 7 through 12. We've got two outlaws there. You could win the Deuce of Hearts here. Pick a number.

John: 9

Doug: [Neil Everett] Number 9, number 9. [/Neil Everett] Let's hope no outlaw's there.

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: That's two down...

Doug: ...and two to go. Next row down. Odds are 50-50 since we have three outlaws among the numbers 13 through 18. Pick one of the three good numbers and you win the Deuce of Clubs plus you'll play for the jackpot on the bottom row.

John: 17

Doug: Number 17. Does he get the Deuce of Clubs?

(bing) (audience cheers)

Doug: Yes!

Doug: John, moment of truth time. Other champions before you have been in this position before -- winning three Deuces and then find an outlaw on the bottom row. On that bottom row are four outlaws. Pick one of the two good numbers and you win CY$102,500. (hoots and hollers from the audience) Good luck.

Doug: YOU DID IT!!!! (slot machine payoff sfx; audience cheers) FINALLY! We have a perfect game in Deuces Wild! Now, John, there's *one* more thing you've gotta do. D.J.'s walking over here with a playing card and the 411 on what ya gotta do now.

D.J.: Indeed, John, congratulations. Now, take a look at that board.

D.J.: Those are the four Deuces you've one. But, notice that 5th space is empty. You're going to fill it with this...

D.J.: ...it's the Outlaw's Jackpot card. Just go over to the board and you'll collect CY$102,500.

(John takes card; walks to board; fills 5th space with Outlaw's Jackpot card)

(slot machine payoff sfx; audience cheers)

Doug: There it is! CY$102,500. We add that to what you won in the game. You have a grand total of...

Doug: ...CY$104,500. (audience cheers) How do you feel?

John: How do I feel? I'm going to Disneyworld!!! And you're all invited!! Whoopee!!

(more cheers)

Doug: LOL! Funny, my future wife and I are going there on our honeymoon. Ryan Morris was there recently. Well, lest we forget, you *did* have ten outlaws to bypass. Let's see where they were.

(FF reveal sfx) (smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: There they were. (gasping for air) We gotta take break. More Net Poker after this.

(audience cheers)
