Audience Game Welcome back. Time to look for three audience game players. But first, for those who've downloaded Net Poker: The Home Game from Ryan's BASIC Games site, a bug was detected with a couple of the components of the game. Ryan's fixed it and he's posted a patch on his website at http://basicgames.folff.com
I want to publicly thank Ryan for his great work on the home game. He really puts a lot of time and effort into these sort of projects. Nice job, Ryan. Keep up the great work. :)
OK, audience game time. Three players closest to the right answer to this query, high or low, get to play Stock Market for a possible CY$3000 and then you'll have a chance to parlay that into CY$20,000. Here's the question...
Once again, I took "the Starcade challenge" and played Dig Dug on the Namco Museum Vol. 3 compilation for 30 seconds. How many points did I score in half a minute?
(time passes)
Just for fun, one of our writers guessed 1910 -- and he's not off by much...
QUALIFYING ANSWER
1890 POINTS
...1890. Now, let's see who came the closest -- excluding our own Net Poker staff...
Jay Jianoran 2400
...Jay was off by 510. Next closest iiissss....
Gus Polly 1250
...Gus -- off by 640. And our third player...
Joseph Kristoff 1110
...the Gatorman. To everyone else, thanks for playing. Stock Market's next.
====================================================================== ("The Terminator" incidental music plays) Jay Cross: Do you feel the need for greed? Net Greed -- only on VBS, where the greediest winners are. ======================================================================D.J.: (talking with John Menjes) And remember, if you want to treat someone to lunch, I'm avail-- uh, oh, hi! (audience laughs) Welcome back to Net Poker. It's audience game time with Jay Jianoran, Gus Polly and Joseph Kristoff.

Doug: Deej, what have I told you about fraternizing with the contestants. Sheesh, anyway, Jay, Gus and Joseph, welcome to the game of Stock Market. This will determine who advances to the Outlaw's Video Slot Challenge. Here's how we play...
1. SPADE CORP 0 2. HEART, INC. 0 3. CLUB UNIVERSE 0 4. DIAMOND BROS. 0Doug: Here at the Net Poker Stock Exchange, we have four companies listed on the big board -- Spade Corp; Heart, Inc.; Club Universe and Diamond Brothers.
In a moment, we'll draw cards one at a time from the top of a pre-shuffled deck -- Ace through 9 of everything just like the game. Before we start drawing cards, it's up to you to pick the winning stock -- the one you think will reach one full point first.
After you pick your stocks, we'll draw cards. A stock will rise one-quarter of a point if the first word in the stock's name corresponds to the suit of the card.
If you pick the winning stock, you'll either win or share in CY$3000.
Keep in mind, this game lasts for just this one round -- so if more than one of you pick the same winning stock, those who did play a tie-breaker.
(time passes)
Doug: And everyone's locked in. Jay, we start with you.
Jay: Heart Inc, and JJ Media
Doug: What? Have they merged already? Anyway, we'll put you down for Stock #2. Gus?
Gus: The last time I played this game, Hearts did me pretty well, so I'll choose-- Clubs!
Doug: Uh, OK, interesting logic. So, you've picked Stock #3/Club Universe. Joseph, what about you?
Joseph: I'll go for the clubs.
Doug: Also going for Club Universe.
