Deuces Wild Poker

Doug: We're back with Andy. At the moment he's got the second seed in our Quarter Million Playoff -- which will be held at the fabulous Bonus Island Resort and Casino in Gulfport, Mississippi. A jackpot win would give him over 200-grand in cyber-cash and the top seed with still two more contenders to find. Andy, you should know how this works by now -- but for any new viewers, here's the deal...

Doug: ...we've randomly hidden 10 outlaw cards on the video screen. There's one on the top row, two on the second row, three on the third and four on the bottom row. You'll pick one number from each row. Each time you avoid an outlaw, you win a Deuce. As the name of the game tells us, Deuces are wild -- which means you can use it for anything when your poker hand is complete.

Ultimately, you want to win all four Deuces. Do that and you win the outlaw's jackpot which is up to a whopping CY$95,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Andy, let's see if we can put a big ribbon bow on this reign. Let's start at the top row. Numbers 1 through 6. Only one outlaw to avoid. Just don't draw the outlaw card and you win the Deuce of Spades.

Andy: I will take 5

Doug: Number 5. Hmmm... already I detect a pattern. Anyhoo, what's behind 5?

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: No outlaw. Good start.

Doug: On to the next row. Two outlaws there among the numbers 7 through 12. Pick one of the four good numbers and you win the Deuce of Hearts.

Andy: 10

Doug: Hmm... again... seeing a pattern here. Let's hope 10's not hiding an outlaw.

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: Oh, dear. Well, no jackpot for you. Let's go after some cyber-money and the tools to help you -- like the Deuce of Clubs. Fifty-fifty chance you'll win that card. Avoid one of the three outlaws on the third row and you win that Club Deuce.

Andy: 18

Doug: Had a hunch you'd go there. Behind 18 we find...

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: ...success.

Doug: You've got both of the black Deuces. Let's see if you can add that tough-to-win Deuce of Diamonds. Four outlaws on the bottom row. Pick one of the two good ones and that Deuce of Diamonds is yours.

Andy: 22

Doug: OK, before we reveal that number, I've gotta ask. You've picked 5, 10, 18 and 22 every time you've played the endgame. Any reason?

Andy: 2 reasons for my picks..... some birthday dates, and also...... they havent won before, so I keep thinking maybe they will do better next time.... so far, that theory hasnt worked LOL

Doug: Well, unfortunately 10 didn't work. But will 22?

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: Nope. Sorry. Well, this certainly makes the next Deuces Wild game interesting. Before we do anything else, let's see where the other eight outlaws where.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: There they are. Well, Andy, you know this drill. We had you cut a deck of cards during the break. Ace through 9 from every suit, of course.

Doug: The first two cards from that deck have just come down the chute. You'll choose one and the other will be discarded. We'll do this again at a pair at a time with the next four cards.

Andy: I will take the LEFT Card

Doug: Left card it is. What's on the left, Deej?

D.J.: We're starting with the 10 of Spades.

Doug: That's an ingredient for a spaded royal flush.

Doug: OK, let's hope for and Ace and face cards of Spades the rest of the way. Time for the next pair.

Doug: There they are. Pick your second natural card, please, from this pair.

Andy: I will take the right card.

Doug: Right card. Right move? Let's see.

D.J.: It's the 10 of Clubs.

Doug: Well, no hope for a royal flush. But, you've got four of a kind so far.

Doug: I say "so far" because we have one more space on the board. Let's fill it with another 10, eh?

Doug: There they are, Andy. The last two cards you'll deal with 'til tourney time. Pick a card and hope it's a 10.

Andy: Right card

Doug: The right it is. Deej, we need a 10 for 10-grand.
