Doug: ...Joker Poker round. And let me explain why it's important...
CHICO ANDY ![]()

Doug: ...as we've been noting, Chico's going for his third win, an undefeated championship, CY$100,000, a brand new Jaguar XK8 Convertible, a spot in the Quarter Million Playoff and a partridge in a pear tree. (audience laughs) Andy's going for his first game win. And if one of these players wins our CY$82,500 jackpot in the endgame, either Andy will make a big stride toward qualifying for that Quarter Million Playoff or Chico will take the #1 seed in that playoff with two more spots still to fill.
But that's in the future. Let's concentrate on the present. During the break, Andy cut the cards since he won the first round. Gents, this plays just like 5-Card Poker -- except that we've added a couple of Jokers to the deck. When you get a Joker, you can use it for anything when your hand's complete.
And, with help from Earl, here come the first two cards from Deej.
D.J.: That is if he's still awake... (light laughter from the crowd)
D.J.: ...the 10 of Spades and the Queen of Diamonds.
Doug: And with those cards, here's the first question. Good luck, everybody...
In the year 1980,...
\ it was revealed Kristin shot J.R. on Dallas
\ the New York Mets won that year's World Series
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Andy.
Andy: I will say..... It was revealed that Kristin shot JR On Dallas
Doug: And you have the first points of the round.

D.J.: Up for grabs now are...
D.J.: ...the 9 of Clubs and the Jack of Clubs.
Doug: And the next query for 10...
Horatio Alger was...
\ an American novelist
\ a World War II spy
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Andy.
Andy: I will say he was An American Novelist.
Doug: He was an American novelist. Good for 10 more points.

D.J.: Or coming down, as the case may be.
D.J.: The 9 of Hearts and the King of Clubs.
Doug: Everyone's a comedian. Anyhoo, next question...
"I Got You Babe" was Sonny and Cher's...
\ first #1 hit together
\ only #1 hit together
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Andy.
Andy: I think that would be ALL OF THE ABOVE
Doug: That's it.

Doug: Three in a row for the challenger. Andy, which card?
Andy: I hate to do it, but I will take a chance, and take the King of Clubs, as I need to go for that straight.
Doug: Well, you'd have 3/5 of a straight either way...

Doug: ...but you'd have a better shot at the straight as you're taking the higher of the two cards and giving Chico a pair of 9s. Next cards are on the way.
D.J.: And now we have...
D.J.: ...the Queen of Spades and the Ace of Hearts.
Doug: Well, interesting. Andy's either going to have 4/5 of a straight or a pair of Queens. Chico, while you'd still have a pair of 9s after this question, you could *really* use some points. So, here's the next question for 10...
King Hussein of Jordan...
\ started his reign in 1950
\ married an American-born woman

\ none of the aboveDoug: Andy.
Andy: He Married an American-Born Woman
Doug: Indeed he did.

Doug: ...Chico, there's no easy to say this, you're going to need a miracle. And the miracle goes like this: First you need to score the 15 points on the question, then draw a good card to get 25 points for the high hand, then the score would be tied, *then* you'd have to roll a high scoring combination at the Dice Poker table. Any stumble along the way and Andy's our new champ.
Doug: There's the final pair for the round -- face down as always. Andy, if you score on this question, you'll become the new champ regardless of how the cards fall. The question...
In golf's Modified Stableford scoring system...
\ "a birdie" is worth 3 points
\ "par" is worth 1 point
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Chico.
Chico: Neither
Doug: Correct.

Doug: Under the Modified Stableford, birdie's worth 2, par's worth 0. OK, Chico, it's all about luck from here. Which card?
Chico: Right. *hope*
Doug: The right card it is.

Doug: ...and we have our cards in place. Chico, a 9 or a Joker gives you three of a kind. An Ace or a 10 means two pair. Anything else and we'll know Andy wins with at least his Queens. Deej, what's Chico's fifth card?
