Doug: ...5-Card Poker. During the break, Chico cut the cards by virtue of his second place finish in the last round.
Chico and Andy, in a moment, Tiki will deal out the first two up cards from the deck -- and I'll ask a 10-point toss-up question. Chime in with the right answer and you win 10 points plus you get the right to pick one of the up cards for your poker hand. Remember, whatever card you decline goes to your opponent.
After you each have four cards in hand, we'll play a 15-point "blind card" question -- where the up cards actually will be face down. After one of you scores 15 and picks a card, we'll then turn the blind cards face up and compare hands. The player with the better hand wins 25 points.
High scoring player at the end of the round will stay in the game and advance to Joker Poker. Tiki, show us what's coming from the deck first?
Tiki: Blackjack!
(audience laughs and applauds)
Doug: You've been waiting to do that, I know.
Tiki: Indeed. Ten of Hearts, Ace of Diamonds.
Doug: Also, I agree with Matt's statement of how you look like Salma Hayek. Anyhoo, first question in the round. Remember, the theme of April 1st and fools is still in play...
Late in the 1993 NCAA men's basketball championship final game, fans thought Michigan's Chris Webber was a fool for...
\ calling timeout when Michigan didn't have any timeouts
\ traveling, even though the officials didn't call it
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Andy.
Andy: I will say it is the first one.... Calling timeout when Michigan didnt have any timeouts
Doug: No. Sorry. Not the right choice. Chico, chance to steal.
Chico: All of the above?
Doug: That's it.

Doug: Bunch of sportswriters around here compiled a list of foolish moments in sports for an April 1st edition of their newspaper. Chris Webber's call of TO when the Wolverines didn't have TO's topped their list. They and several other sports publications make note Chris tooks steps without dribbling the ball just before that. That's a traveling violation and the refs didn't call it. In any event, Chico, which card?
Chico: Ante up with the rockets, dude.

Doug: All righty. You've got the Ace. Andy gets a 10 and we have two more cards from Tiki.
Tiki: Blackjack!
(audience laughs and applauds)
Doug: (impersonating Jack Benny) Now cut that out!
Tiki: (also laughing) Sorry. Can't help it. Ace of Spades, King of Hearts.
Doug: OK, back to the questions...
There were false broadcast reports Big Ben's clock was going digital...
\ on April Fool's Day in 1980
\ by the BBC
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Andy.
Andy: I will say ALL of the Above !
Doug: And that's right. We've got a tie.

Doug: And the odd thing of it is last year Jason Blair also reported Big Ben was going digital. (audience laughs) Anyway, Andy, which card?
Andy: I will take the Ace of Spades
Doug: Figured you would...

Doug: ...prevents Chico from getting a pair of Aces. Got another blackjack hand for us Tiki?
Tiki: Well, it's a pair of Queens -- of Clubs, of Diamonds.
Doug: And normally you wouldn't do this in blackjack. But we've got to split that pair. You'll each get a Queen after this query...
In the entertainment business, many people thought Fred Silverman was a fool for allowing...
\ Supertrain to air on NBC
\ Pink Lady and Jeff to air on ABC
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Chico.
Chico: All of the above!
Doug: Sorry, not the the right choice. Andy, chance to steal the points.
Andy: I will go with the Pink Lady and Jeff one.
Doug: No, sorry. OK, work with me on this. Fred Silverman did work at NBC and ABC as well as CBS as a programming exec. And Supertrain and Pink Lady were both flops. But, both those disasters aired on NBC. So that's why only the first choice -- "Supertrain to air on NBC" -- is the true answer. OK, we just move on to another 10-point question...
The song "Fool For The City" was a hit for...
\ Foghat
\ Boston
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Andy.
Andy: I will say FOGHAT
Doug: And you've got ten more points.

Doug: ...and Chico's got the Club Queen. And we have two more cards from dealer Tiki.
Tiki: 10 of Clubs, Jack of Hearts.
Doug: Hmm, interesting development. Chico for sure will have 4/5 of a straight after this question. Same could be said for Andy. Now this is a long question coming up -- so with that and the up cards, please play carefully.
On October 30, 1938, some radio listeners were fooled into thinking...
\ Venus exploded and pieces of the planet were headed for Earth
\ Earth was being attacked by Martians
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Chico.
Chico: Earth was being attacked by martians
Doug: Got it.

Doug: ...as opposed to the '70s music group 10cc. (light laughter) Anyway, it's almost blind card query time. Question's worth 15 points and that's important because you each need one particular card to complete a straight. In the event there's a tie for the best hand, the 25 points for high hand are null and void.
Doug: And there we've got the cards ready. Here's the 15-pointer...
On April Fool's Day of 1938...
\ the Pro Football Hall of Fame opened in Canton, Ohio
\ the Baseball Hall of Fame opened in Cooperstown, New York

Doug: Got it.

Doug: Another 10. You've got a pair. Andy, you've got a pretty good shot at taking this round. A King would give you a straight. Any other face card or an Ace gives you a higher pair. Tiki, do your stuff.
