Net Poker: Deuces Wild Poker

Doug: We're back. Before we start Joker Poker, you're probably wondering when we gave Brian a chance at the CY$250 what would happen if he picked a Joker. We'd give him the 250 anyway. In any event, Chico's hoping things get a lot wilder as we play Deuces Wild Poker. Champ, since this is your first time up to bat, here's how you win your Deuces for your poker hand.

Doug: It starts here at the video screen. This time, we've randomly hidden ten outlaw cards behind these numbers. There's always one outlaw on top, two outlaws on the second row, three on the third and four on the bottom row. In a moment, you're going to pick one number from each row in the hopes you'll avoid the outlaws. Each time you avoid an outlaw, you win a Deuce. As the name of the endgame implies, the Deuces are wild -- meaning you can use it for anything when your poker hand's complete. However, after picking four numbers, if you've left all ten outlaws hidden, you'll have four Deuces in your hand. If that happens, forget about a fifth card. We'll just give you everything in the outlaw's jackpot which has grown to...

Doug: ...CY$75,000. (audience cheers) OK, Chico, let's start at the top. One outlaw to avoid. Avoid that hombre and you win the Deuce of Spades.

Doug: And D.J.'s starting your hand with that wild card. Let's go to the next row. Numbers 7 through 12. There are two outlaws on that row. Avoid them and you win the Deuce of Hearts.

Doug: Ah, going all the way on the right column. Let's see if it's a good strategy.

Doug: Rats! Well, let's keep going. Three outlaws on the next row. Numbers 13 through 18. Odds are 50-50 you'll win a Deuce of Clubs.

Doug: There ya go. That's more like it. Last row. This is where four outlaws live. Avoid them and you'll win the Deuce of Diamonds.

Doug: We'll start adding natural cards in a bit. But first, let's reveal where the other nine outlaws were.

Doug: And there they were. If you used your column strategy from 3 to 21, you'd have CY$75,000. But now, let's concentrate on winning CY$20,000 and here's how. During the break, we had you cut a deck of cards. As usual, Ace through 9 of all the suits.

Doug: And D.J. has the first two cards from that deck face down. In a moment, you're going to pick the left or right card. We'll add the selected card to your hand and discard whatever you decline. We'll do that one more time with the next pair.

Doug: And there you've got it. We're hoping an Ace, King, Queen or 10 of Hearts is on the horizon and you pick it.
