5-Card Poker Doug: We're back on Net Poker. BTW, we already have one player in our Quarter Million Playoff. It either takes three straight wins or 100-grand in cyber-cash winnings to make it to that high stakes poker game -- which will take place at the fabulous Bonus Island Resort and Casino in Gulfport, Mississippi. But for Joe and Chris, the road to that Quarter Million Playoff is going through...

Doug: ...this round of 5-Card Poker. Now, normally, the second-place finisher from Video Poker would cut the cards. However, we had a tie for second.

Doug: Joe, since you're the player to the left, you got to cut the cards during the break. In this round, we're playing with an actual deck of 24 cards -- as opposed to cards from a video screen. But still, it's Ace through nine of every suit.
In a moment, D.J. will deal out the first two up cards from the deck -- and I'll ask a 10-point toss-up question. Chime in with the right answer and you win 10 points plus you get the right to pick one of the up cards for your poker hand. Remember, whatever card you turn down goes to your opponent.
After you each have four cards in hand, we'll play a 15-point "blind card" question -- where the up cards actually will be dealt out face down. After one of you scores 15 and picks a card, we'll then turn the blind cards face up and compare hands. The player with the better hand wins 25 points.
High scoring player at the end of the round will advance to the Joker Poker. We'll say farewell to the player with the lower point total
Deej, what's up for grabs for the first question?
D.J.: We're starting with the King of Diamonds and the Ace of Hearts.
Doug: And now, that first question for this round...
Our group of outlaws could tell you the United States Football League's Outlaws played their home games in the state of...

Joe: It's Oklahoma.
Doug: Sorry, not right. Chris, chance to steal.
Chris: none of the above
Doug: It's actually *all* the above. The team started out as the Oklahoma Outlaws in 1984. Then they moved their home base to Arizona a year later. No harm, no foul. We'll leave the King of Diamonds and Ace of Hearts up for grabs with this new question...

Doug: Alright. Chris, the cards that make up your hand will be on the bottom half of the board. Joe, yours will be on the top half of the board. And now, we need two more cards.
D.J.: OK...
D.J.: ...the Jack of Hearts and the Ace of Spades.
Doug: Interesting pair of up cards. Next query for 10...

Doug: Another good guess on a steal. You're right.

Doug: "Jersualem" means "city of peace". Chris, you have the lead. Are you going for the royal flush or at least a pair of Aces?
Chris: Stick with the bullets. Ace, please...though I know he gets "cowboys".
Doug: Yeah, like you wouldn't have played it safe, too! (light laughter)

D.J.: ...a wise move on Chris's part. The 10 of Spades and the Jack of Clubs.
Doug: Well, how about that. No royal chance -- though it was interesting for awhile. OK, another question...

Doug: I'm going to assume you mean "all of the above" by that -- and unfortunately that's wrong. Chris, another chance to steal.
Chris: Got a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. Bossum Buddies was LONG before '92.
Doug: He's all over it -- and right.
