Video Poker

(FF reveal sfx) (Trivia Trap sfx)

Doug: Another Jack and an Ace. Sorry, Joe, but we gotta dock ya 5 points.

ALAN
JOE
CHRIS

Doug: You're still in the game as you'll advance to 5-Card Poker for sure. Chris, you're turn at bat as we shuffle.

(cards are shuffled on the video screen; after shuffling stops, the cards are covered immediately with the 24 numbers)

Doug: Given our scoring system, you'll need at least a full house or better to win this round. Anything less and Alan wins Video Poker. Pick five numbers, please.

Chris: By the way, DJ, my waitresses weren't just hired for skill... Nikki doused a few customers herself before getting the hang of it.

D.J.: OK. Now I don't feel so bad.

Doug: So you'll do it.

D.J.: (thinks about it) Oh sure! (audience cheers) As long as Fred Scott's not at this bar!

(Doug laughs hysterically and then the audience laughs too)

Doug: Sorry, inside joke. Long story, too. Anyway, Chris, now that we've stalled enough for time, got five numbers in mind?

Chris: Hope for a boat. Uh,...I'll pick 13 (of course), 7, 21, 19 and...23, please.

Doug: And let's see what's behind the numbers...

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: ...(clears throat) uh, well. No full boat. But a pair of Jacks and you're 3/5 of the way toward a royal flush. Now, a pair of Jacks alone is worth minus-five. So, I dare say exchanges are in order.

Chris: Dang right. Let's see. I will...keep the Jacks and ditch the rest...and I'll go all-in with cards...1...3...and...12. (crosses fingers)

Doug: 1, 3 and 12. If coupled with the Jacks you make a full boat or better, you win the round. Otherwise Alan wins Video Poker. Let's see 1, 3 and 12, please.

(FF reveal sfx) (Trivia Trap sfx)

Doug: Oh, still a pair of Jacks. You lose five. Alan you win!

ALAN
JOE
CHRIS

(winning bells; audience applause)

Doug: Congratulation, Alan. Your full house held up. You'll advance to the Joker Poker final round later -- but first, let's play for CY$5000.

Doug: Behind the five letters in the word "POKER" are various amounts of cyber-cash. Lowest amount behind the letters is CY$500; highest is CY$5000. Just pick a letter and whatever's behind your selection is yours for the taking.

Alan: R please

Doug: R it is. What *R* we adding to the champ's winnings?

(bing)

Doug: That's a CY$1000.

ALAN
JOE
CHRIS

(smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: That's yours to keep regardless of how you finish in the game-deciding Joker Poker round. Joe and Chris, standby. Your chance to play 5-Card Poker is next -- here on Net Poker.

(audience applause)
