Five-Card Poker Doug: We're back, Alan's been given a clean bill of health after that wild possession of the video screen and now it's time for Five-Card Poker. Gentlemen, as the title of this round implies, you'll each build a five-card hand as you play a series of 10-point toss up questions. Chime in with a right answer and the points are yours plus you get to select one of two up cards for your hand. Remember, whatever card you turn down goes to your opponent.
When you each have four cards in your hand, we'll play a blind card question worth 15 points. It's a blind card situation because the fifth pair of up cards are dealt out face down. After that, we'll turn the blind cards face up and compare hands. The player with the better hand wins 25 points.
Also keep in mind since we have a total of 80 points available in this round. If you score more than 40, you'll win the round. So it is possible that you'll score the majority of available points before we can even compare hands.
Eddie, since you finished second in the last round, that gave you the right to cut the cards. And now, D.J. will deal out the first two up cards from the deck he cut...
D.J.: We're starting with the Jack of Spades and the 9 of Clubs.
Doug: And here's the first question in the round. Good luck to both players...
