Five-Card Poker Doug: And welcome back. Net Poker's still in its infancy. So much so we're still working out the kinks. Turns out there was a factual error in one of the questions we played. Statistically, it didn't make a difference -- but it might have made a difference in who went first, second and third in the latter half of the last round. So, we'll give the losing players in this game the benefit of the doubt and let 'em come back on the next show. (audience applause) Andy, in your case, if you *win* this game, you'll still retire undefeated and remain retired until our Quarter Million Playoff -- which is our tournament of champions. But that's all in the future. Time to concentrate on the present and...

Doug: ...and Five-Card Poker. Now, we had a tie for second at the end of the last round -- so whenever that happens and it involves the champion, we let the champ cut the cards. And that's exactlywhat happened with Andy.
Players, D.J. will show us cards up for grabs in pairs from the top of the deck -- and then I'll give you a 10-point toss-up question. Chime in with the right answer and you win the 10 points plus you control the cards. That means you get to select one to add to your five-card poker hand. Remember, the card you decline goes to your opponent.
After you've each collected four cards, we play a blind-card question for 15 points. We call it the blind card question because the fifth pair of cards up for grabs are shown face down.
After that, we'll turn the blind cards face up, compare hands and award 25 more points for high hand. Higher score wins this round and advances to Joker Poker to play against Eddie.
Good luck to you both as we show you the first two up cards in this round.
D.J.: Ok...
D.J.: The Queen of Clubs and the King of Diamonds.
Doug: And here's the first question of the round...

Andy: has the secret agent number "007". It was Ian Fleming, not Art Fleming. Art Fleming hosted Jeopardy! before Alex Trebek.
Doug: (looks at card) Who are you? Kreskin? (audience laughs) That's exactly what I had in my FYI notes on my card. Well, anyway, that's 10 points.

Doug: No extra points for correcting the blooper -- but you do get a card.
Andy: Since we're playing Poker and not Hearts, give me the King of Diamonds.
Doug: Ohhh...kay.

Doug: You realize that was the Queen of *Clubs* you gave Marc. But anyway, on to the next pair of up cards.
D.J.: The 9 of Clubs and the King of Clubs.
Doug: Well, Marc's going to be 2/5 of the way from a flush -- but will it be a royal flush for the car. We'll see as we continue with another question...

Doug: Marc has a slight edge in comparing hands. But Andy has the edge in the point totals. Deej, what cards are next?
D.J.: The Jack of Diamonds and the Queen of Hearts.
Doug: Well, we know one of you will get a pair of Queens and the other will be four-fifths of the way from a straight. Next question...

Doug: OK, Marc's got a pair of Queens. Andy's one 10 shy of a straight. And, while Eddie's offstage, let's tell him we mean no offense as we play...
Doug: ...the blind card question. We call it "blind card" because we deal out the fifth pair of what would otherwise be up cards face down. The question's worth 15 points. But, since we're tied at 20, control of the cards is what's really important. Because after that, we award 25 points and the round to the player with the higher hand. So, important question coming up...
