Doug: Thank you, ghost of Jay Stewart and welcome to another game of Net Poker -- our game of chance, knowledge and high stakes. At the end of this rainbow, we hope we find CY$60,000 -- but only one player can take it all home. Who? Find out as we play -- and as we play, we need players. And we need D.J. Hamilton to introduce 'em.
(audience cheers) (D.J. walks out wearing blue jeans and a bikini top)
Doug: Woah, Deej. First the black swimsuit and now this?
D.J.: Well, you know what they say about poker.
Doug: And that is...?
D.J.: It's a game where you can really lose your shirt. (men in the audience hoot and holler)
Doug: Uhhh... if any of the VBS suits are watching, remember, her wardrobe wasn't my idea. (more laughs) Deej, who came to play?
D.J.: We have with us today Andy Silikovitz, Joe Van Ginkel and our champion with one win and CY$12,000, Noiel Spearman.

Doug: ...or giving you 10 markers each, depending on how you want to look at it. What we'll do here is give you five toss-up questions. Each time you chime in with a right answer, you're 10 points richer. After five questions, you'll then have a chance to add more at the video screen. More on how you do that later. But, on to the questions and this.
(Doug looks at first blue question card ... and starts to chuckle)
D.J.: What's so funny?
Doug: Did you have a hand in this?
D.J.: OK, I did. Let's say I wrote the question after a life experience.
Doug: (clears throat) OK. In a normal game of Poker... (audience laughs) not counting wild cards... the so-called "dead man's hand"... (now Doug laughs) (the audience follows) (Doug turns to D.J.) I'm not going to even ask if the "dead man's hand" came up in the game you played.
D.J.: No, but I wish a few ex-husbands had it. (audience laughs)
Doug: (catches breath) OK. Are we still on?
Nelson: (over loud speaker) By some miracle, yes!
Doug: OK, here we go... I hope...

Doug: Dead man's hand, according to legend, contains a pair of both black Aces and both black eights. Wild Bill Hickok held those cards plus an unknown fifth card in a poker game -- and was shot to death during the hand. Joe, for what it's worth, the movie The Plainsman has Wild Bill hold a King of Spades in addition to those Aces and 8s. But the King of Hearts is considered the suicide king. Just stating that for the record and beside, they pay me here by the word. (audience laughs) Next question for 10...
The word "gas"...
\ was coined by chemist J.B. van Helmont
\ is taken from the word "chaos"
\ all of the above
\ none of the aboveDoug: Andy.
Andy: all of the above
Doug: You're 2 for 2.

\ none of the aboveDoug: And there's Joe.

Doug: Correct.

Doug: If I'm not mistaken, the game was at Comiskey and the AL won it. OK, at the end of the questions, Andy's got 50, Joe with 20 and our champ at 10. But you never know what's going to happen at the video screen. And you certainly never know if D.J.'s going to do something else to appease the male demos.
