Five-Card Poker Doug: And welcome back to Net Poker. Before we start our Five-Card Poker round, a note about the proceedings in Video Poker. During the question and answer period, we had to throw out the fifth question due to an apparent factual error and replace it with a new one. Since the scores ended up being so close, what we're going to do is finish out this game and let the losing parties in this and the next round come back in the next game. (audience applause) I've worked in broadcasting for 11 years and I've learned the first of anything's not going to go smoothly. Unfortunately, this is one of 'em.

Doug: But I hope you guys and Robert will agree with me this is the way to solve it. That means this elimination round won't be quite so bad for whoever loses this section. So, with all that in mind, let's play...

Doug: ...Five-Card Poker. Here's how this round. Tom, during the break, you cut a 24-card deck. Once again, we're only playing with the Aces, 10s, 9s and face cards of each of the four suits.
D.J. will show us the first two cards of the deck and then I'll give you a 10-point toss up question. Chime in with the correct answer and you win the 10 points plus the right to select one of the two cards to add to your hand. The card you turn down goes to your opponent.
Then, D.J. will show us the next two cards from the deck and play continues until each of you have four cards.
To complete your hands, D.J. will display the next two cards face down and then we play a "blind card" toss up question worth 15 points and the chance to select either the left or the right card. We'll then turn the blind cards face up and the player with the better hand wins 25 more points. High scorer at the end of this round goes on to Joker Poker while the other is eliminated from *this* game. But, as promised, if you lose this round, you'll be back next time because of our boo-boo in the first round.
Deej, show us the first two cards, please.
D.J.: We're starting with the 10 of Hearts and the 9 of Spades.
Doug: And here's the first question for the round...

Doug: Not right. Tom, chance to steal.
Tom: Then it has to be "all of the above"

Doug: And as Deej puts the cards in place, I'd be in remiss if I didn't mention the natural royal flush bonus of the new car and CY$100,000 is still in play. Deej, what's next?
D.J.: We've got the Ace of Hearts and Queen of Clubs.
Doug: And you'll have your choice of the two if you get this question right...

Doug: Well, you now have two of the ingredients for a royal flush. You've got to hope we see some face cards of Hearts. Deej, what'cha got next?
D.J.: Well, no royal for now. King of Clubs and Queen of Spades.
Doug: And with that, the next question. Noiel, let's see if you can get some points here...

Doug: Well, Tom's going to end up with a pair of Aces no matter what. Noiel, you can tie the score on this question...
