Deuces Wild Poker Doug: And welcome back to Net Poker. Robert McBride's our champion with CY$6250 to his credit. But he's after more... much more... in Deuces Wild Poker. Here's how this works, Robert.

Doug: We'll give you a chance to win some 2s or Deuces. As the name of this round implies, Deuces are wild and you can substitute them for anything when building your five-card poker. The more deuces you have, the better the odds you'll win big.
![]()
Doug: And you win your Deuces from the video screen. To make this challenging, we have a total of 10 outlaw cards hidden on the board. We have one outlaw on the first row, two outlaws on the second, three on the third and four on the fourth. You'll pick one number from each row and if you avoid an outlaw, you win a Deuce. If you can avoid outlaws a total of four times, you'll have all four Deuces. And when that happens, we'll forget about building a five-card poker hand and instead give you all the cyber-cash that's in the outlaw's jackpot. And we're seeding it with...

Doug: ...CY$50,000. (audience cheers) Robert, good luck. We're all rooting with you and hope you win the pot on our first day. First, let's pick a number from the top row and play for the Deuce of Spades. Avoid the outlaw that's on the top row and you win your first wild card.
Robert: #6
Doug: Number 6. Does he win the Deuce of Spades to start off?
![]()
Doug: Good start. (audience applause) Deej will now put the corresponding Deuce on your board.

Doug: Now on to the next row of numbers. Among 7 through 12, there are two outlaw cards. If you don't find either one, you win the Deuce of Hearts. Which number does *not* have an outlaw?
Robert: #7
Doug: Going for lucky 7. Is it lucky?

Doug: Good move. (audience applause)

Doug: So far, so good. Two wild cards but now it's becoming tougher to win them as we continue to move downward. On to the numbers 13 through 18. Three of them hide outlaws. The odds are 50-50 that you will win the Deuce of Clubs. Just avoid any outlaw on that row and you win your third wild card.
Robert: #14
Doug: Fourteen. Does he have a total of three Deuces?

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)
Doug: Ah, darn. Outlaw finally got ya. Well, you can still win the Deuce of Diamonds but that will be the toughest wild card to win because on that bottom row there are four outlaw cards. Only two are good. Pick one of those safe numbers and you get another wild card.
Robert: #21.
Doug: Going for 21. Is this a good hit?
![]()
Doug: Good. (audience applause) Three out of four.

Doug: OK, you won three Deuces. Now, Robert, during the break, we had you cut a deck of 24 cards. Again, we're playing with every Ace through 9 of every suit. Deej will now deal the first two cards face down...
Doug: You'll pick one card to add to your hand and then we discard the card you decline. Remember, the better your hand, the more cyber-cash you win -- based on this paytable...

Doug: A royal flush will give you CY$20,000. Five of a kind means 10-thou. So, should we add the left or the right card to your poker hand?
Robert: Right.
Doug: The right card. We'll go ahead and turn it face up...
D.J.: He's got the Queen of Spades for his first natural card.
Doug: OK, as Deej adds that Queen to your poker hand...

Doug: ...a note that if you can draw any Spade but a 9, you'll have the CY$20,000 royal flush. Another Queen makes five of a kind for CY$10,000.
Doug: Here's a new pair of blind cards ready for you. Which would you like to complete your hand?
Robert: Left.
Doug: The left it is. BTW, I'd be in remiss if I didn't note what would happen if you did draw the 9 of Spades. That would make a straight flush for CY$5000. Deej,...
