5th Anniversary Special:
Round 1
ANDY
MICHAEL
(random woos from the crowd)
Doug: Woah! Another King for two pair.
Michael: King, Jack, or Ace!
Doug: Michael's got it all figured out. An Ace gives you trips. A King or Jack means a better two pair. Harry, let's see Michael's last card.
ANDY
MICHAEL
(random gasps and cheers from the crowd)
Michael: D'oh!!!!!
Doug: It's a 9! So Andy gets the 25 points and we're tied at 40.
ANDY MICHAEL Doug: If this were the normal Net Poker game, we'd break the tie at the dice table. But, we're playing under Net Poker Live! rules. So, here's what we do.
Each of you may discard one card from your hand. We'll then play another 15 point blind card question with the better hand getting 25 more points. Andy, we start with you. Which card do you want to ditch?
Andy: The 9
Doug: Thought ya might. Michael, which card do you want us to ditch?
Michael: Am I allowed to discard the 9?
Doug: You may.
Michael: I'll discard the 9 then.
Doug: Man, no love for the 9s, tonight. Treatin' 'em like Harry.
(Dirty Harry discards 9s; gives Doug a "stare") (light laughter from the crowd)
ANDY
MICHAEL
Doug: OK, now, we'll start this next question with two more cards...
Doug: And, as promised, here's the next question...
ROME
COLUMBUSDoug: Michael.
Michael.: Ohio cities
Doug: Sorry not right. Andy, before you speak, here's the rest of the list...
ROME
COLUMBUS
DALTON
BRUNSWICK
ATLANTAAndy: World capitals?
Doug: No! They're all cities in Georgia. (audience groans) So we move on to another list in common. Those tie-breaker blind cards stay where they are. Here's another tie-breaking list...
THE NUMBER 0
THE WORD "BUST"
LIGHTNING
THE DEVILDoug: Michael.
Michael: Losing picks in bonus rounds of game shows.
Doug: Be more specific.
Michael: In Barry and Enright game shows
Doug: That'll work.
ANDY MICHAEL Doug: The goose egg you wanted to avoid in "Play The Percentages"; "bust" was something to avoid on "Break The Bank", the mid '70s syndicated version with Jack Barry; lightning, of course, came from "Bullseye"; devil from "The Joker's Wild" and we didn't get to the dragon from "Tic Tac Dough". Michael, you now lead 55-40. Which card?
Michael: The right card.
Doug: All righty.
ANDY
MICHAEL
Doug: We're gonna get a winner here on these turns of the cards. Andy, let's start again with you. Your new blind card is...
ANDY
MICHAEL
Doug: ...the Queen of Spades. Not much help. Still with two pair. Michael, a King or Jack would make a better two pair. A third Ace also makes you a winner. Your last card...
ANDY
MICHAEL
Michael: Yes!!!!!
Doug: King of Spades! Michael wins this first round.
ANDY MICHAEL (audience applause; Super Pay Cards round victory music plays)
Doug: All right, Michael. Congrats on winning the first round. Harry's walking over to a European Roulette wheel. There are the numbers 1 through 36 plus a single 0. If Harry's spin results in a number higher than 0, the payoff is that number in hundreds of cyber-dollars. If he spins a 0, it's CY$5000.
*BUT* there's more. Michael, in celebration of our fifth anniversary, if Harry's spin is a 5 or a number ending in 5, that's *also* CY$5000.
Doug: So you've got five shots at five grand, my man. Ready?
Michael: Yes
Doug: Harry, do the honors.
(DH spins)
8 l Doug: Eh, an 8. Well, that's CY$800.
Michael: I'll take it!
ANDY MICHAEL Doug: Michael leads one round to none. Andy, we'll see if you have better luck in the next round.
We'll resume this game in a moment. Later, you'll see clips of the pilot. But when we come back -- Net Poker: The Real Deal. An inside look at this game -- after this.
