5th Anniversary Special:
Round 1The "Net Poker Live!" portions of this episode took place in an AOLIM chat room June 10, 2008. Portions of the chat transcript were edited and others were omitted. Such editing did not affect the outcome of the game.
Rich: From CDM Enterprises, a division of Trax Productions, welcome to the card game where high hands can bring high rewards. Ladies and gentlemen, Net Poker Live! proudly presents the 5th anniversary special of Net Poker.

Rich: And now, here's our host, Doug Morris!
Doug: Thank you, thank you, thank you! Welcome to an event five years in the making. Net Poker Live! -- and our fifth anniversary special of Net Poker!
Doug: And joining us tonight are two old friends of the game. Please, a polite round of applause for Andy Silikovitz and Michael Clifford.
ANDY MICHAEL Doug: Andy is one of the biggest winners in our history -- having won more than CY$450,000 over these last five years.
Doug: Andy, we know you're a Torah ready in Jersey. Have any particular favorite moment from the last five years of Net Poker?
Andy: Well I got lucky enough to win after I lost the championship to Andy Geller last time. Now I wait for an opponent for the next championship.
Doug: Yes indeed, on all counts. Luck, like normal Poker, does play a factor in the game. Good to have you with us. Challenging you tonight is Michael Clifford. He's racked up more than 170-grand on Net Poker.
Doug: Oh yeah. Michael, same question. Any favorite moments?
Michael: Anytime I flirted with DJ Hamilton! (audience laughs) She wants me! I know it! ;-) (more laughs)
Doug: (laughs) Why does that not surprise me? Well, good luck to you both. Now for this fifth anniversary show, these two players will compete under Net Poker Live! rules. That means it's the best two rounds out of three that wins the game -- and the right to play our bonus round. And since we're playing under Net Poker Live! rules, we have to have our NPL! dealer. Sorry, Michael. Let's have a big NPL! cheer for DIRTY HARRY!
(audience boos as DH walks out) (DH sneers)
Doug: All right, let's get the party started. We'll play two rounds of 5-Card Poker followed by one round of 3-Card Poker, if necessary.

FIVE IN
COMMONDoug: Our first theme tonight is a little somethin' somethin' called Five In Common. Makes sense on the fifth anniversary show to start with *Five* In Common. I'll list five items one at a time. All five items are united by a common bond. All you have to do is buzz in and identify the common bond. Remember, you may buzz in after the first item is revealed. But be careful -- because if you answer incorrectly, your opponent gets to see the full list -- and also gets a free guess.
Andy earned the right to cut the cards before this special started. Let's see the first two cards from the top of the deck -- and get 'er dun!
Doug: Bummer, no hope already for a royal flush -- but two goodies. Ace of Clubs and the King of Clubs. Michael and Andy, hands on your buzzers and here we go...
KELLY
KENDRA
BILLDoug: Yes, Michael.
Michael: The Apprentice winners' first names.
Doug: That's right.
ANDY MICHAEL Doug: Michael, you have the first ten points of the special. Which card ya want?
Michael: Ace of Clubs
ANDY
MICHAEL
Doug: All right. Of course, Andy gets the King by default. Let's see two more cards come down the chute.
Doug: OK, 10 of Diamonds and the Jack of Spades. Here comes the next list...
OIL
WATER
COOLANTDoug: Andy.
Andy: Antifreeze?
Doug: No, sorry. Michael, before you speak, here's the rest of the list.
OIL
WATER
COOLANT
GASOLINE
WINDSHIELD WASHERMichael: Things in your car
Doug: Be more specific.
Michael: Liquids in your car
Doug: We'll take that. We were looking for "fluids". But liquids is close enough. (audience applause) You lead 20-0; which card, Michael?
Michael: Jack of Spades
ANDY
MICHAEL
Doug: All right. Michael with Ace-Jack. Andy with King-10. Two more cards, please.
Doug: Yin and the Yang. 9 of Hearts and the Ace of Diamonds. Wonder which card will be taken after this next list...
HAWAII
ALASKA
ARIZONA
NEW MEXICODoug: Michael.
Michael: The final 5 states of the Union.
Doug: Good enough. The five newest states in the Union. (audience applause) We didn't get around to putting Oklahoma, the 46th state in the Union, on the board. States were arranged starting with the newest. Michael, you're pitching a shutout, so far. Thirty to nil. Which card -- as if I didn't know?
Michael: Ace of Diamonds
Doug: No kiddin'. (light laughter from the crowd)
ANDY
MICHAEL
Doug: OK, Michael has a pair of Aces. Andy, let's see if you can do some good -- with these next cards.
Doug: King of Hearts and the 10 of Diamonds. Andy, you'll get a pair either way. But you sure could use some points. Next list...

Michael: Military branches
Doug: There ya got it.
ANDY MICHAEL Doug: Dumb question that it is -- I have to ask -- which card?
Michael: King of Hearts
ANDY
MICHAEL
Doug: As Harry places those cards on the board, Andy, believe it or not, it's still possible to win the round. If you score on this 15 point blind card question and get the better hand, we'll have a tie score at 40 and then go to a tie-breaker. Final two cards for the round come...
Doug: ...face down. This next list is for 15 points.

Andy: Federal holidays on Monday
Doug: That's right!
ANDY MICHAEL Doug: Rest of the list, Columbus Day, George Washington's birthday and Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday. Which card, Andy? Left or right.
Andy: The southpaw one
Doug: Left it is.
ANDY
MICHAEL
