Semi-Final Game 2 Round 2 Doug: All right, one round down. Before we go any further, let's catch up with these semi-finalists since they were last with us. Shawn, as I recall, you were -- and I trust, still are -- quite the poker player.
Shawn: Since I was here last, I did get a chance to enter the World Series of Poker circuit event in St Louis. I did not cash, but I did better than I thought I would have for my first big tournament. After I win some more here, it’s off to Vegas, but I need to win some more here first.
Doug: I hear ya. Well, you're down in this chip count. But a new round is on the horizon shortly. Andy, tell us what you've been up to since you were last here on the Net Definition set.
Andy: I've been working on writing a new theme song for Net Definition called "Here Comes The Pun".
(light laughter from the crowd)
Doug: Bless you. That's so fab.
(more laughter; a few groans)
Andy: I also spent some of my winnings and went to Palindrome, Italy. I'm still working at a synagogue in Montclair, NJ as a Torah reader, but if I win this tournament I won't need a job. I'll be 42 on May 1.
Doug: Well, happy early birthday and good luck to you both. Shawn, you lost the last round -- so you get control of this next definition.
Scarlett: Runs, hits and errors.
Doug: Runs, hits and errors. Shawn, since you lost the last round, we start this one with you.
Shawn: I'll give the X.
Doug: No X. You may take a letter.
Shawn: I'll take an E
Doug: Just the one.
Doug: This gives you a chance to tie up the game right now if you know -- runs, hits and errors.
Shawn: I'll have to pass.
Doug: And that means control goes over to Andy.
Andy: Let's give the Z.
Doug: No Z. Take a letter.
Andy: I'll take the A.
Doug: Other end of the alphabet's a good choice.
Doug: Two A's and they're both in the first word. With those three vowels, do you know runs, hits and errors?
Andy: Ballpark figures.
Doug: Right you are.
Doug: Runs, hits and errors are figures displayed on a scoreboard in a ballpark.
SHAWN ANDY Doug: Andy quickly off to a commanding 1000-0 lead. Andy just needs one more round to reach the finals. Shawn, you need three in a row. Here's Scarlett with the next definition.
