Semi-Final Game 1 A to Z Round
Doug: And we're back on Net Definition. Michael, chance to win CY$100,000 in one fell swoop is on the way with our A to Z Round.
Doug: Now we play this a little differently than the regular games. But this much hasn't changed. In a moment, Scarlett will give you the bonus definition -- then I give you letters one at a time from A to Z.
When I give you a letter that appears at least once in the answer, I'll stop and give you a chance to guess.
Now here's where the differences kick in -- because in the semis, we're playing for double the stakes in A to Z. That means a right answer pays CY$2000 for every letter left unrevealed. And if you can give me the right solution before I give you the A, the payoff is CY$100,000.
Doug: So I wish you good luck as Scarlett has the bonus definition.
Scarlett: Ben Stein has these.
Doug: There you have it. One time only for CY$100,000, Ben Stein has these.
Michael: I can't even venture a guess. I'm going to need some letters.
Doug: All right. Here come the letters -- starting with A.
Doug: And three A's pop in like a shot. Thirteen blank spaces mean CY$26,000 if you know -- Ben Stein has these.
Michael: This is more than likely wrong, but I'm going to take a guess anyway. Is it BUELLER AND A BEAST?
Doug: Incorrect. We move on to B.
Doug: First letter in the last word. Down to 24-grand. Ben Stein has these.
Michael: I probably know the last 3 words, but not the first word. I need to see some more letters.
Doug: More letters are on the way. C. (pause) D.
Doug: And there's one D in the second word. Ben Stein has these.
Michael: I still don't have a guess.
Doug: Moving forward with E.
Doug: And finally we get something in the first word. Can you put it all together for 20-grand? Ben Stein has these.
