Round 3

Doug: Back on Net Definition -- where we're on the verge of a sweep or a tie.

DAVID
ROBERT

Doug: This third round is worth CY$750. Robert already has collected CY$750 for winning the first two rounds. If he wins this round, he wins the game in a sweep -- entitling him to a double-header of A to Z and a possible CY$100,000.

David, however, wants to win this round -- that way he can tie the score and make a big decision for Round 4. Right now, let's get to Round 3 and this important definition.

(FF reveal sfx)

Scarlett: The Ryan Morris diet.

Doug: The Ryan Morris diet. David, give away a letter you do not want.

David: Okay it's crunch time. Give Rob the X.

Doug: No X. You may take a letter.

David: I'll take the E.

Doug: How about four E's? Here's they come.

(ding)

Doug: There they are. Chance to tie the game in one fell swoop is now, David. The Ryan Morris diet.

David: I hope this doesn't come back to bit me in the butt. Robert, you're it.

(buzz buzz)

Doug: Very well. Robert, your go.

Robert: Give the Q.

Doug: Normally a good letter to give away. However...

(ding)

Doug: ...there *is* a Q. Second letter, second word. David, since you were given the Q, this is a free guess. If you're right, you tie the game. If you're wrong, pass or take up too much time, you'll still have control and, at least, give away a letter to Robert.

For now, can you tie the game? The Ryan Morris diet.

(time passes) (buzz buzz)

Doug: OK, time's up, David. The good news, as promised earlier, it's still your turn since Robert gave you the Q.

David: First off, give Robert the Zed.

Doug: And the 26th letter in the alphabet's not in the solution. Take a letter.

David: I know of at least one, I'll take the S.

Doug: Have two while you're at it.

(ding)

Doug: One S starts the second word, the other ends the third word. Third consecutive try for the tie. The Ryan Morris diet.

(time passes) (buzz buzz)

Doug: That's time. It's over to Robert.

Robert: Give the V.

Doug: There's no V. Take a letter.

Robert: Take the A's.

Doug: Perhaps he has a feeling about this. There is more than one A.

(ding)

Doug: Four A's in fact. Chance to sweep the game right now. The Ryan Morris diet.

Robert: Ryan's been having THREE SQUARE MEALS A DAY!

(audience starts to cheer)

Doug: You've swept the game.

(dings; audience cheers)

Doug: Ryan, of course, hosts the Hollywood Squares part of the Net Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour -- so he'd recommend three square meals a day.

DAVID
ROBERT

Doug: Robert, congratulations. CY$1500 in a clean sweep. That means you'll play the A to Z doubleheader -- and a chance at a possible total of CY$100,000.

David, sorry we have to say goodbye so soon. Got a consolation prize of CY$50 in additional to all that loot you won on the last show. Grand total of CY$56,800.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Well played, well earned. We wish you and the loved ones you treasure a great holiday season. One more time, a nice hand for David Hammond.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Robert, winner's board time. Behind seven of the numbers, instant payoffs of cyber-cash and prizes. The remaining five hide fractions of our major payoffs -- the car and CY$25,000.

If you find half of the CY$25,000 bill or a third of the word "CAR", you may pick again. Keep picking until you've won the 25-grand, the car or one of the other seven prizes.

Robert: #1.

Doug: Number 1. Has he found part of the car or the 25-grand?

(ding) (audience cheers)

Doug: No -- but how does CY$7500 sound?

DAVID
ROBERT

Doug: Total of CY$9000. Robert, we're going to play an audience game -- and then we'll you'll play for CY$100,000 here on Net Definition.

("The Mad Dash" theme plays; audience applause)
