Round 4 Doug: And welcome back to Net Definition. Before we start the final round, I want to go back to the last round and "absinthe of Alice". During the break, we found more than one acceptable spelling of the word. Many sources indicate it can be spelled without the "e" on the end.
A few, but not many, sources indicate the "i" can be substituted with a "y". And that might have put David at a disadvantage -- since Robert gave him that letter.
Even though David won the round, it's still a rule among the scribes, and I include myself among them, to avoid words in a solution that have more than one spelling -- unless the definition *specifically* steers the spelling of a particular word in a certain direction.
So, what we'll do is finish up the game as is. Regardless of what happens, Robert and David will have a rematch on the next show.
But, that's the future. Let's wrap up this present -- in more ways than one. Let's go to Scarlett for our championship definition.
Scarlett: It's part of the game of Sorry!
Doug: It's part of the game of Sorry! David, since you won the third round, you have a choice to make. You may give away the first letter to Robert -- and then perhaps take a letter for yourself. *Or* you may pass control to Robert -- meaning he'd give you a letter and then possibly take a letter for himself.
Tell us who gives away the first letter.
David: I'm going to have to keep control for myself.
Doug: Very well, give away a letter you do not want.
David: Give Robert the Q.
Doug: There's no Q. Take a letter.
David: In honor of Sorry!, I'll take the S.
Doug: S as in Sorry! -- is the first letter in the solution.
Doug: Any right answer means the championship. David, for a total of CY$2250, it's part of the game of Sorry!
David: One S isn't enough for me. Robert is it.
Doug: All right. Control indeed goes over to Robert.
Robert: Give the X.
Doug: No X. You may take a letter.
Robert: Take the L.
Doug: Take two L's while you're at it.
Doug: One L pops in next to the S, the other's near the end of the solution. To maintain your championship, it's part of the game of Sorry!
Robert: Slide only?
Doug: Incorrect. David, back to you.
David: As they say in Canada, give Robert the Zed.
Doug: No Zed. No Z. Take a letter.
David: I'll take the E.
Doug: There are two E's.
Doug: Last letter of each word. For the championship, it's part of the game of Sorry!
David: I have used it many times in my days of playing Sorry! The classic -- slide rule.
Doug: And you're about to slide into the winner's board. You're the new champ.
Doug: That's right, the game of Sorry! has a rule regarding when and where you can slide your pawn on the game board.
ROBERT DAVID Doug: David, congratulations on winning CY$2250. In just a moment, we'll take you over to the winner's board and then a shot at 50-grand in A to Z.
Robert, this is not goodbye. This is bye for now -- due to that technicality in the last round. You keep the CY$500 -- but we're not letting the loss count against. If you win the rematch against David on the next show -- and then two more games consecutively -- you'll play the Make A Million game for CY$1,000,000.
For now, you've racked up a total of CY$17,500. Robert McBride, everyone.

Doug: David, here's our new winner's board. Three of these numbers hide the letters that spell out the word "CAR". Two other numbers hide halves of a CY$25,000 bill. The remaining seven numbers hide instant payoffs of cyber-cash and virtual prizes.
In a moment, I'll ask you to pick a number. If you find a letter or half of the bill, you may pick again. Keep picking until you spell out "CAR", meaning you'd win the car; find both halves of the bill, meaning you'd win the 25-grand; or find one of the other seven prizes. Best of luck to you and pick away.
David: Twenty five G's sounds nice, let's see if one half is behind #5.
Doug: Okie doke. Let's see #5.

Doug: Well, this ends your trip -- but what a way to end it. This triples your winnings here in the main game for CY$6750.
ROBERT DAVID Doug: Stand by for your chance at CY$50,000, David, right here on Net Definition.
