Round 1

(FF reveal sfx)

Scarlett: She knew that color was coming.

Doug: She knew that color was coming. All right, David, you may give away a letter to Robert -- one you really do not want.

David: I'll give the X, Doug.

Doug: There's no X. You may now take a letter -- one you think will help you.

David: I'll take the E.

Doug: There are two E's.

(ding)

Doug: When you take a letter that appears at least once in the solution, you're entitled to a guess. For CY$250 and the first round, she knew that color was coming.

David: Gotta pass the bat over to Robert.

(buzz buzz)

Doug: Very well. Robert, your first turn of the game.

Robert: Give the Q.

Doug: And there's no Q. Take a letter.

Robert: Take the R.

Doug: There's just the one.

(ding)

Doug: Pops right in next to the E in the first word. Your first chance to win the first round. She knew that color was coming.

Robert: I don't know.

(buzz buzz)

Doug: All right. Control goes back to David.

David: Give Robert the Z, Doug.

Doug: No Z. You may take a letter.

David: I'll take the T for myself.

Doug: Two T's...

(ding)

Doug: ...one in the first word, one in the second word. Nothing yet for the last word -- but can you win the CY$250 here? She knew that color was coming.

David: Robert, you're it.

(buzz buzz)

Doug: Very well. Back to Robert.

Robert: Give the V.

Doug: There's no V. You may take a letter.

Robert: Take the N.

Doug: There's one N...

(ding)

Doug: ...near the end of the first word. Can you win the first round with the six letters exposed? She knew that color was coming.

Robert: Predicting the gumball?

(Trivia Trap sfx)

Doug: Incorrect. David, back to you.

David: Give Robert the W.

Doug: And there's no W. You may take a letter.

David: I know there is at least one, I'll take the H.

Doug: We'll see the one you know...

(ding)

Doug: ...and raise you another H. You now have at least one letter in each word. Do you have the answer that pays CY$250? She knew that color was coming.

David: I can't figure out one of the words, you're it again Robert.

(buzz buzz)

Doug: Okie doke. Indeed, the control is back in Robert's corner.

Robert: Give the J.

Doug: No J. You may take a letter.

Robert: Take the I.

Doug: How about three I's? Here they come.

(ding)

Doug: There they are. Another chance to win the first round. She knew that color was coming.

Robert: Still no idea.

(buzz buzz)

Doug: OK, about half the alphabet's in play. So the giveaways and the takes should be played carefully. David, over to you.

David: I'll give Robert the B.

Doug: There's no B. Take a letter

David: I have an idea seeing the I was in that third word. I'll take the C.

Doug: Huh kay -- let's *C* what develops.

(a few groans from the crowd)

(ding)

Doug: (to crowd) You were expecting "Minute To Win It"?

(a few laughs from the crowd)

Doug: David, in the midst of all that, two C's popped up. One in the first word; one in the last. Any ideas for 250? She knew that color was coming.

David: Right where the C's I thought would be. It's predicting the fuchsia.

Doug: That's the color she knew was coming.

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: But if she predicts fuchsia at the roulette table, she's as much of a sham as Miss Cleo.

(audience laughs)

ROBERT
DAVID

Doug: Challenger leads 250-0. We'll meet our players and start Round 2 after this.

("The Mad Dash" theme plays; audience applause)
