Here's hoping you're having a great new year so far. If not, you've got 300+ days to make it a great one.
Welcome to Game 15 of Net Definition. Some notes are in order...
\ John Menjes is our two-time champion with CY$16,000. A win in this game means he completes our field for the tournament of champions.
\ If you've played in Game 12, 13 or 14, please sit on your hands and let someone else in on the fun. Can't remember when you played? Please visit www.dougmorris.net/definition and check out the archives, which have been redesigned for easier navigation.
Now on to the qualifying round. The player closest to the right answer plays against John.
On August 20, 2009, at 9:30pm Central, we watched a rerun of "Catch 21" on GSN -- which originally aired during the show's second season. After two rounds were completed, the three players scored a total of how many points. Please respond in hundreds of points.
(time passes)
Huh? We've got a winner already? Huh-kay, what's the answer?
The top two players actually finished Round 2 in a tie at 700 each. The eliminated player scored 300. Hence the total and right answer -- 1700. So, who locked 1700 in first?
Jay Cross 1700Jay's going to try and stop the champ's winning ways. Big game coming up.
======================================================================(drum rolls) Scarlett: This is our two-time champion, John Menjes. To date, he has won CY$16,000.Scarlett Gray: "NCIS: Warner Robins" (audience laughs) will not be seen tonight -- so that we may bring you the following. ======================================================================
Scarlett: If he wins tonight, he'll win CY$100,000 plus a new car -- and complete our field for the Mega Playoff -- here on Net Definition.
Scarlett: From CDM Enterprises, Net Definition. The charge brought against the back massager.
Scarlett: Solution...
Scarlett: ...and our solution to fun with the pun on VBS is Net Definition. Now, for the man who helps us add it all up. Our host, Doug Morris! And now -- aye, there's the rub -- our host, Doug Morris!
Doug: (laughs) Thanks -- I think. Welcome to Net Definition. Our game of cryptic clues and big payoffs.
JOHN JAY Doug: As Scarlett alluded to, we have an important game tonight. We're going to get right to it as we welcome back John Menjes -- and welcome aboard his challenger, Jay Cross.
Doug: As I'm sure you've noticed, we have a new set -- and what a time to debut it. Rules are still the same.
Doug: First round is worth CY$250. Each of the next two rounds is worth CY$250 more than the previous one. Fourth round, if necessary is worth CY$1250. First player to rack up CY$1500 wins our game and plays for much more in the A to Z Round.
Doug: Jay, your our challenger. You'll start us off after Scarlett gives us our first definition of 2010.
