CY$500 Round

Doug: Back on Net Definition. Before we get to Round 2, let's chat with the players. First, let's reintroduce our champion, Jay Cross, with CY$31,500. For those who missed your earlier appearance, Jay, tell the folks about yourself.

Jay: I'm 21 years old and about to enter my senior year of college. I'm also hoping to generate a comeback here to avoid being one and done!

Doug: Certainly, good luck in your studies and here in the game. Let's meet your challenger, Shawn.

Shawn: Hi, My name in Shawn Wells. I'm from Springfield Illinois where my wife and I run a small day care center. We have a 7 year old son. We are currently planning our 8th trip to Walt Disney World this fall.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing poker, and someday would like to play in the World Series of Poker. Anyone have $10,000 I can borrow?

(light laughter from the crowd)

Doug: At the next commerical break, we'll pass around a hat. Have fun at Disney, good luck in poker and good luck here on Net Definition.

Shawn leads 250-0. Since Jay lost the last round, he'll get first crack -- at this definition.

(FF reveal sfx)

Rich: Kermit the Frog's tenure on "The Muppet Show".

Doug: Kermit the Frog's tenure on "The Muppet Show". Jay, give away a letter you don't want.

Jay: I'll give Shawn the Q.

Doug: No Q. Take a letter.

Jay: I'll take what I believe to be the obviously there A.

Doug: One A and...

(ding)

Doug: ...probably doesn't surprise you of the location. Chance to takes the lead. For CY$500, Kermit the Frog's tenure on "The Muppet Show".

Jay: I've got a guess, and I'm gonna try it: A Ribbiting Production?

(Trivia Trap sfx)

Doug: Incorrect.

Jay: Ugh, I was so sure of that too!

Doug: Well, round's not over yet. Over to Shawn.

Shawn: I'll give him the X.

Doug: Normally a good letter to give away. However...

(ding)

Doug: ...X is the second letter of the last word. Since Shawn gave Jay the X, Jay's entitled to another guess. Jay, again, for CY$500, Kermit the Frog's tenure on "The Muppet Show".

Jay: How about A Ribbiting Experience?

Doug: And *that's* the right answer.

(ding) (audience applause)

Doug: You almost had it the first time. But once you got the X, you were given a chance to capitalize and won it.

JAY

Doug: OK, the score is CY$500 to CY$250 in Jay's favor. Next round is worth CY$750. Obviously, no one can win the game on this round alone. But winning this round is important -- because the player who scores the CY$750 in this round will have an important choice to make in the opening moments of the final round.

So for now, here's the next definition.
