CY$250 Round

Doug: The first round is worth CY$250, the next is worth CY$500, the third for CY$750 -- and if necessary, we play one final round for CY$1250. A game is CY$1500 -- and the winner goes on to the A to Z Round for a possible CY$50,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Now, before the show, we drew straws backstage. And since Jay's sketch of the straw was judged better (light laughter from the crowd) he'll start first with this definition.

(FF reveal sfx)

Rich: Melanie Chisolm's breasts.

(guys in the audience, of course, cheer)

Doug: And you thought boob questions were reserved for the other show. (audience laughs) Ian, you'll start us off. Give away a letter you do not want.

Ian: Zey

Doug: Interesting way of calling for the last letter of the alphabet. It's not there. Now take a letter you think you can use.

Ian: A

Doug: There are two A's.

(ding)

Doug: And with the two A's, you have one guess at the solution. Right answer means you win CY$250 and the first round. Definition again -- and it's hard to say it with a straight face -- (light laughter from the crowd) Melanie Chisolm's breasts.

Ian: I have to pass.

(buzz buzz)

Doug: Pasadena -- over to Jay.

Jay: I'll give Ian X.

Doug: No X. Take a letter.

Jay: Take E.

Doug: There is one E -- last letter of the second word.

(ding)

Doug: Your first chance to win the round. And I have to be honest, the more I reread the definition, the more I like it. (more light laughter from the crowd) Melanie Chisolm's breasts.

Jay: I believe her breasts are... A Spice Rack!

Doug: And I believe you have won the first round.

(ding) (audience applause)

(theme plays)

Doug: By the way, the definition was originally going to be Emma Bunton's breasts. But Jay Lewis, who helps us write the puzzles, talked us into Mel C.

IAN
JAY

Doug: And I'd like to talk more about breasts -- but the floor director's giving me the "hurry up" signal. So, we'll go to break and play more -- after this.

(audience applause)
