A To Z Round
Doug: Welcome back to Net Definition. Jay Cross is our new champion -- and since he won in a sweep, he'll play the first of two A to Z Rounds.
Jay, in a moment, Rich will give you the bonus definition. Then I'll give you letters one at a time in alphabetical order from A to Z. Once I give you a letter that appears at least once in the answer, I'll stop and give you a chance to solve. A right answer pays CY$1000 for each letter you leave hidden.
But before I give you the A, I'll give you a chance to solve with no letters exposed for CY$50,000.
Doug: So, good luck, here's the bonus definition.
Rich: A sign of economic trouble.
Doug: What, no breasts? (audience laughs) Seriously, Jay, one time only for CY$50,000, a sign of economic trouble.
Jay: No guess.
Doug: OK, perhaps 50-grand will come in the next round. For now, A.
Doug: Two A's drop the price down to CY$12,000. Still good coin. A sign of economic trouble.
Jay: Ugh, can't think of a thing.
Doug: OK, no worry -- more letters. B. (pause) C. (pause) D. (pause) E.
Doug: Three E's. Nine grand for a right answer. A sign of economic trouble.
Jay: Still need some help.
Doug: Hang on, Jay, more help is on its way. F. (pause) G. (pause) H. (pause) Um, I? (pause) J? (pause) How about -- K?
Doug: Just about half way into the alphabet. I'll give you CY$8000 for a right answer. A sign of economic trouble.
Jay: Is it Wall Street Weak?
Doug: It is Wall Street weak!
(bells; audience applause; The Mad Dash victory music plays)
Doug: That's the good news. The bad news -- you *have* to invest this CY$8000 in the stock market. (audience laughs) (theme plays) Only kidding. Another shot at CY$50,000 when Net Definition comes back.
