A To Z Round
Doug: And we're back with Net Definition. Michael, you know how this works. Let me explain for any new viewers who are seeing the A to Z Round for the first time.
Since Michael won the main game in a clean sweep, he's entitled to play two consecutive bonus rounds -- and we're starting the first of two.
In a moment, Rich will give the bonus definition. Then, I give letters to Michael -- one at a time in order from A to Z. The moment I give a letter that appears at least once in the answer, Michael will have a chance to solve for CY$1000 per unrevealed letter.
In addition, after Rich gives the definition and before I give the letter A, Michael may take a shot at answering with no letters exposed for CY$50,000. And Michael's done it already once. Let's see if he can do it again.
Michael, I wish you the best of luck on both of the bonus rounds. Here's the first bonus definition.
Rich: It happens at a baseball hall of fame induction.
Doug: OK, a five-word answer. Lot of cyber-money can be won even if you don't win the 50-grand. But can you win 50-grand right now with no letters given to you? One time only for CY$50,000 -- it happens at a baseball hall of fame induction.
Michael: I'm kinda watching out for any Canadian references in the answer. :) (audience laughs) I don't know the answer now. I need some letters.
Doug: Need some letters, eh?
Doug: I -- uh -- didn't necessarily call for the A. But there it is. Right answer's still worth some decent coin -- CY$22,000. It happens at a baseball hall of fame induction.
Michael: I need more letters.
Doug: More letters to come. Let's move on to B. (pause) C.
Doug: Just the one C. Chance at CY$21,000. It happens at a baseball hall of fame induction.
Michael: I think that second word is either "pitches" or "pitcher". I'm gonna need more letters.
Doug: More letters to come. D. (pause) E.
Doug: Oh, there's a good bit of help. Four E's. You have letters in every word but the last, Michael. Does this help for CY$17,000? It happens at a baseball hall of fame induction.
Michael: That second word is indeed "pitcher". As Rod Stewart once sang: EVERY PITCHER TELLS A STORY.
Doug: And that's right.
(bells; audience applause; The Mad Dash victory music plays) (theme plays)
Doug: Not sure if Rod would sing the National Anthem at said ceremony. In any event, Michael, your total winnings are now more than 181-grand. We'll take another break -- and play Michael's final bonus round before tourney time -- here on Net Definition.
