A To Z Round
Doug: We're back. Andy, I know you just played this -- but we still have oodles of time to fill. So this is a good time to explain how to play the A to Z Round.
In a moment, we'll give you the bonus definition -- and then I'll give you letters one at a time in alphabetical order from A to Z. The moment I give you a letter that appears at least once in the solution, I'll stop and give you a chance to solve.
A correct solve wins CY$1000 per unrevealed letter. But if you can solve with no letters exposed, it's CY$50,000.
Doug: And we'll bump it up to five million if you can solve it without the blank spaces revealed. (audience laughs) Deej actually thought it would be more challenging that way.
In any event, here's the first bonus definition.
Rich: A librarian.
Doug: Short and sweet definition. One time only for CY$50,000, a librarian.
Andy: Well nothing yet.
Doug: OK, so I'll give you the A.
Doug: Woah. Two A's. Chance to win CY$15,000 here if you solve it correctly. A librarian.
Andy: Doesn't help too much... still no guess.
Doug: No guess -- means we move on. B (pause) C (pause) D (pause) E.
Doug: Three E's. So far, nothing but vowels. Prize goes down to CY$12,000. A librarian.
Andy: The Shelf Answer Man.
Doug: That answer just made you CY$12,000 richer.
(bells; audience applause; The Mad Dash victory music plays)
Doug: Total winnings so far -- CY$29,000. (audience cheers) *And* there's more. The latest clean sweep entitles you to another bonus definition. Here it comes.
