Doug: And welcome back to Hot Dice. Michael, ready for this?
Michael: Yes, I am ready to go.
Doug: All right. Michael Clifford's here on our VBS finale. Michael was the runner-up in our previous game -- so we're gonna let him play a special edition of the Bonus Bonanza.
What makes it so special? Michael, instead of giving you a free roll of the dice to give you a head start for the pot, we're just going to spot you CY$5000 in the pot.

Doug: We're also spotting you three gold coins to protect you from those nasty busts.
              
|
Doug: Bust rolls are still 5, 7 and 9. If the dice total 5, 7 or 9, you've got to give up a coin and roll again. If you bust without a coin to help you, the game ends -- but you'll lose *half* the cyber-money in the pot instead of losing everything.
Safe rolls still add CY$500 per point to the pot.
Doug: The double decision board is now active. Three of the screens hide different amounts of cyber-money. Each amount is worth at least CY$20,000 with the guarantee one screen hiding CY$50,000.
Doug: Other three screens hide busts -- which also mean either surrendering a coin or ending the game with half the pot.
So -- you got CY$5000. Wanna stop and keep that moolah -- or risk half the pot on a roll of the dice?
Michael: I'm gonna roll them.

Doug: Well -- double decision right off the bat. Michael, would you like to have us add another CY$5000 to the pot...
Doug: ...or take whatever's hiding in the double 5 screen on the board? If there's cyber-money in that screen, we'll add that much to the pot instead of CY$5000. If there's a bust, you've gotta give up a coin and roll again.
Michael: I'll go for what's behind the board.
(scattered cheers)
Doug: Wouldn't it be great to tell our accountant she's gotta fork over 50-grand? Let's see if it happens -- here!
Doug: Nope. A bust. Gotta take a coin away.

Doug: Down to two coins. Before you roll again, we've got to reshuffle that thar board.
Doug: Now, let's see if you can roll a better double or, otherwise, avoid a 5, 7 or 9.

Doug: Many moon come -- niner. Gotta take back another coin. Roll again, please.
|
|
|
Doug: Michael!!! We're trying to throw lots of moolah at you. Now if you run into one more bust situation, game's over and you end up with just half the pot. Roll 'em again. Make it a good'n.

(mix of groans and applause)
Doug: Well -- it's not another 9, by golly. Itty bitty tree brings the pot up to CY$6500. You could stop and keep the CY$6500 -- or risk half on the next roll.
(audience shouts suggestions)
Michael: Even if I do bust, I still get to go to the wrap party. I'll have some Jagerbombs please. (audience laughs) Anyway, I'll roll again.

Doug: Hey now!!! That's an 11 -- and that nearly doubles the pot to 12 large. Thing is the bartender *is* watching and expecting a big tip from *you*. (audience laughs) So -- with that -- wanna stop and bank the CY$12,000 or keep on rolling?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Michael: I'm feeling especially greedy today. I'm rolling again.

Doug: Hey now. This is going to be a real test of greed.
Doug: You know the double decision. Do we add CY$3000 added to the pot -- or do you take what's in the double 3 screen on the board? If there's at least CY$20,000 there, we'll add that much to the pot instead of CY$3000. If, however, there's a bust, game over, you lose CY$6000 and the bartender will count on a smaller tip.
(audience laughs) Michael: I'm going for what's behind the board again.
Doug: All right. Board wasn't good to you before. Let's see if it's good to you this time. Come on fifty grand!
Doug: Oh, darn. Another bust -- and that's the game. First, let's reveal the rest of the board -- just to prove we did have big bucks up there.
Doug: Oh -- and did we ever. Fifty and forty grand were behind double 1 and double 2, respectively. Eighter from Decatur had thirty large that time.
Well, this cloud does have a silver lining. Instead of losing everything in the pot, you're losing just half the pot.
